Why is it that I just can't help but disagree with all of these "*******" and "****" comments about Walter? He's done some bad things, sure, but 90% of it has been for self preservation/to preserve everything he'd worked toward for his family.

I had trouble feeling bad for him, but it was sad when everything around him imploded with the cops, etc. Walt was the final nail in the coffin.

Nah, again, self-preservation. Walt already had a strained relationship after he turned Mike's boss into Gustwovo-Face, and the odds are that it would've gotten to the point where it was either Mike or Walt.
