Joe Shuster was born on July 10th, 1914 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

He was born here, he is truly Canadian and co-creator of Superman.

Congrats to our team in pairs figure skating, i watched their program earlier tonight and it was fantastic.

I believe he became and American citizen after moving to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 10. I don't believe the US recognizes dual citizenship.. But alas, yes, Superman's creators are 3/4 American and 1/4 Canadian ;) Nobodies perfect..lol..

Now lets keep on the Hockey banter. Hockey is more fun when the rivals are hated and trash talking ensues..lol..

:dunno

So, Shuster was born there. Kal-El was born on Krypton and raised in Smallville, Kansas.

Look, you guys can claim Wolverine. You can't claim Supes. Sorry. :wave

For you crummy Americans, through the words of USA GM Brian Burke and what I said from the get-go after that game...

"Look, you guys were all there -- we got out-chanced two-to-one last night," said Burke. "Our goaltender stole us a game. That's what happened. And people can say that Canada didn't play well -- I don't agree with that. They out-chanced us ... except for the goaltending position, we didn't deserve to win that game last night."

Hope you don't play us again, because skating wise, puck possession wise, physically, we dominated Team USA. Ryan Miller stole the show and Martin Brodeur crapped the bed. Roberto Luongo is coming in. Be afraid, be very afraid! That game was just a round robin. Time to beat Germany and then Russia. Lets Medal up boys! It's time to medal up or shut up! :rock

Canada will get spanked by the USA if they meet again.. You just wait and see.. Muahahahahaha ;)

Highly disagree with you there. The hitting was back and forth with the edge to the US on that. I remember towards the end of the third when Orpik wallpapered Crosby I didn't know whether to cheer or cringe.

For your other comments I'm not going to say the US will definitely beat Canada. But, I will say they now have a boat load of confidence and they now know they "can" beat them. Should be interesting. Oh... and you still need to get past Russia before you have the privilege to face us again :D

Eli is peeing his panties. Don't you worry.

Didn't deserve to win??? Sorry we out scored you guys, and a Win is a Win. Obviously, the GM is trying not to sound too confident knowing that we'll likely have to face Canada again. Fact is you, Canada still has to get through Russia to play us again.

These guys say that stuff to get the team riled. Things like this are said all the time in baseball. "We didn't deserve that win.....blah blah". If Canada was supposed to win, they would've. That's the way sports is. It's talent and luck.

If Canada plays the US again it'll be in the gold medal game, and while Canada does have a hard road ahead I think that some of the US fans fail to realize that for the US team to advance to the gold medal game they'll have to get by Sweden... That's not going to be an easy task.

Congrats on the well deserved round robin win. Let's see what happens in the single elimination round.

May the best hockey team win the gold. I intend on seeing my flag a little higher then the rest.

The competition is fierce. Won't be an easy road to gold.

Agreed, it isn't going to be easy for any team, let's just hope everyone is a little more civil than that Russian douche who lost figure skating.

Yeah, no kidding. I think sometimes even better then seeing someone win gold(or any medal for that matter) is seeing someone be a good sport about their overall finish. Kershaw and Harvey in the Mens Team Sprint Free is a good example. They finished 4'th. First Canadians to ever rank that well in the event. I think that's as impressive as a gold medal.

Oh, please! Team Canada is sooo like, going to win the gold and stuff. Like you know, whatever! WOooo! Go Canada! Booooo, Germany!:emperor

Brian Burke was quoted saying that, not me. And he spoke the truth. Canada was the better team against the US. Games are not always won by the best team and that's what he's trying to say. If you guys can't understand that then you didn't see the same game I did or you just don't get it. Yes, the USA won, but it was entirely a goalie's game. Our team dominated, but sadly Brodeur got more assists than the majority of your guys. His strength (stick handling) became his weakness. He's known for playing the puck smart, calm, and nearly error free. The Marty that night was of the rare variety. Doesn't matter now, Luongo is in now.

As much as I love MB30, he won't be getting any more games in because if Luongo wins, they'll give it to him, and if he losses, well, then we're out of this thing.

I think we all understand that but in the end a win is a win, doesn't matter who played better. Matters who wins.

No I agree, just reminding you fans, and giving you perspective that we played a great game. That Canada was not a force to laugh or mock. :)

Getting sick of the obnoxious posts I guess. We get it, you pride on your military and athletes.

Again, 310 million to our 34 million. Oh, and you want to talk about money sunk? USA has one athlete that has 9 million invested in them, and another with 3 million. That's 1/10th of what Canada put into their athletes (if this is true), and we're talking about two athletes there. We still come out on top per capita, and we did win 24 medals to your 25 in 2006. So I am also proud of what this small little Nation can accomplish. Now Norway is just phenomenal!
