when is mad labs gonna do something sw related/horror stuff?......zombie old ben kenobi would be righteous.......:lecture :wink1:

Heh, we are busy working away at a bunch of things. None of which you have mentioned. ;)

:lol

Did you paint that Marmit stormie armor?

Nope. It was starting to yellow a little so I gave it a peroxide sun bath. Brought back that white to the armour right away. What you see is its original finish. I still can't believe the bad matt finish armour SS did on theirs. fail.

:D

nice! i have a question master brinn 71. i have some marmit sand troopers. have you had any luck removing all the bantha poodu to make them regular storm troopers?

Thanks man!

You see a few pages back I did up a Marmit/Sideshow Sandtrooper hybrid. I removed all the Marmit weathering with Acetone, gently and very CAREFULLY rubbing the armour weathering off with a paper towel soaked with the Acetone (wear gloves!) and added my own. Before I added my weathering though, it was all white. You could do that, but your Stormtroopers will have the wrong ab plate, sniper knee pad, and different helmet markings. Plus, your troopers will be flat-lensed Sandtroopers, not the bubble lensed hero style Stormtroopers. ;)

So you just bought a bottle of peroxide and dipped it in? For how long? I'd be freaked out that it would turn brittle or get pitting or something!

Nope, it just bleached the armour back to its original white again. Yes, I bought the peroxide bottle, poured it all into a large ziplock, added in the armour and left it in the sun for about 2 hours.

As for brittle? Nope. In time, I don't know? Google this process and see if anyone has found problems. I didn't hear of any. It only affects the unpainted plastic, not the painted parts.

Thanks to some tips in the SS Boba mod thread, I finally did my Boba mod. Please forgive the bad pics:

Bent the ab plate, fixed the right belt pouch, and put him on a narrow shoulder truetype, but used a slim's forearms. I thought he looked a bit too dainty on the slim. I think he fills out the outfit better this way. On the slim I found he was swimming in his suit.

Thanks again for everyone who posted their Boba modding techniques.

I still have yet to add the elastic from his jock to his back. :D

looks good brinn..:hi5:

at first glance at the pic i was like.......damn he's got 3 boba fetts and a **** load of toys scattered about............:lol

More pics of Boba.

Forgot to mention, to make the wrist pegs fit into the slim forearms, I just hollowed out the back of the forearm peg holes to accept the SS wrist pegs. Works nicely.

I was miffed that I could not make Boba do this pose with the original SS body:

Looks great Brinn, nice work.

Those last two pics look fantastic. Looks like Bulloch in the suit. well done.

Thanks man. That's why I didn't repaint the helmet (that, and I'm too lazy). When surrounded by white I think the helmet colour works. I know its wrong, but in certain light it works, you know? It takes on the appearance of the film's colours, I think.
