Went through that a couple months ago, Guerilla glue is all you need.

The pain is having to pay $285 and another $100 for shipping for it to reach me like this. :(

I would say the only good thing about it is the break to his leg is likely easy to fix. So you could get your money back and still have a very displayable piece.

USPS takes the item before they issue an insurance refund. I got a Logan PF once that looked like they played football with the box resulting in his claws and legs being destroyed. I filed and insurance claim and they took the PF at the post office and I got a full refund + shipping cost a few weeks later.

Personally, I have had WAY more problems with UPS than FedEX or USPS.

Thanks, that sounds like balm to me.

good luck on the insurance claim. I'm interested to know how much you get back, because my experience with filing claims has been not very positive. Which is why I try to ship the SS shipper box inside another box; SS shippers just aren't made for multiple trips.

They actually suggest you do this, with 3 inches of protection on all sides of the inner box. It should be able to survive being dropped 3ft.

anyhow, i've contacted SS and they don't have any spare anakin bodies left :(

so i really banking that the insurance procured will come through.

Hey man. this is not a call out thread. Just want to get as much info as possible to get the claim done as painlessly as possible.

I know this isn't a call out, just want it to be known that I intend to do my part (whatever that may be) to be sure that you get your insurance to come through.

I'm headed to post office today with the receipts in hand, hoping to get some instructions and/or answers.

hey guys. i tried the gorilla glue thingy ( i used goop cos there's no gorilla glue here) and spent the last 2 hrs watching the darn statue.

Its a no go, it keeps leaning (after i've held it for 30 mins) and I'm just glad i was there to catch it as it went.

hoping the PO will come back with better luck. :(

You shouldn't have messed with it until hearing from your PO first because they will want to check it out and if they see glue they will determine that they are not responsible for a statue that they think was broke before being shipped to you.

:sickThis thread makes me physically ill. I love my PF Anakin, I feel aweful for the buyer. I guess for me the lesson here is only purchase direct from Sideshow on these types of items that are prone for breakage.

No the lesson should be that shipping companies need to treat packages with more respect. But, I'm sure that's the last thing we'll see come of this :lol

Removed the goop. It's easy to remove when dried. Hopefully that plus the orignal pics n shoulder chips should be enough.

To be honest. I really wanted to just fix it and forget about the hassel of insurance if possible.

Back to the drawing board.

that really sucks, but good luck. I know what it's like to go through the hastle, but it's definitely one of the best PF's out there

I think the only lesson to be learned is this is EXACTLY the reason why both parties of a transaction should insist on insurance. It's an extra expenditure, sure, but this is the reason why it's important and a good thing this item was insured. The seller isn't at fault here as a package can get damaged being sent from Sideshow as well. Hell, it can get damaged being shipped from China to Sideshow for that matter.

I hope you get your $$$ back through insurance. If I remember correct new from sideshow that leg had a couple strips of wood on each side all wrapped in plastic for support during shipping.

AFTER the insurance claim is done with try using 2 part epoxy. When this stuff dries it is almost as hard as the polystone. It comes in a syringe that you mix and apply. Get the high strength type with the longer working time and the longest drying time so that you can work slow and get it right because when its dry its not going anywhere (also the quick dry type might get hot and melt the polystone). Good luck
