Broken Roger Moore

I called Sideshow today and Erin said that they will keep my money for me instead of refunding me and charging me again. She also said that they have no idea when the new Roger Moores will arrive in LA. She said that it could be after Christmas.

Sounds like there are a lot of problems with this piece. This is from the blog at Razor's Edge:

We spoke to Sideshow today and it seems they have a problem with the new Roger Moore as James Bond Premium Format statue. We were supposed to get a shipment in already. However, Sideshow told us they are having packaging problems with this statue and they received a very large amount of defective pieces already (Over 50% we were told), so they have to adjust / fix the packaging and produce more of these to fill the preorders made with them. They did ship a bunch out already to their retail customers (the people who spend full list price of course are first, which is cool with us) and most arrived broken, so basically there is a recall on them until they fix the packaging issue.

So it sounds like they haven't even shipped to retailers yet, and everybody is going to have to wait while Sideshow makes more to replace all of the broken ones and get enough on top of that to honor all of the orders from retailers who are still waiting. Maybe they will just change the pose and have him standing with his hand in his pocket....

It makes sense that they haven't shipped to retailers given the problems. Having seen the problem I think some padding might solve it. If they have to redesign the styrofoam it could take a very, very long time.

No word. As I speculated, the packaging doesn't really work and they have remanufacture (I'm guessing) nearly the entire run. Not holding my breath...

I had Sideshow keep the money that I paid for Moore. Since I had already saved enough to get him I knew I would spend it if they returned it to me. Siince Moore is taking so long, I hope there are not any problems with Sideshow thinking I need to pay again.

My NEW Roger Moore was shipped today... I recieved a 3-5 day notice today but I had sideshow keep my money last October so they did not need to do a pre-auth. this time. About 20 min later I recieved a second email saying that it had alreay shipped. It was shipped today and will get here tomorrow (3/16) This was a fun surprise!


Now I really want a Craig!

I just hope the FedEx guy delivers him after 4pm. It is so frustrating when FedEx delivers on weedays and nobody is home to sign for the packages.

It feels really good recieving a PF and not having to worry about paying for it. Since I paid for it so long ago it feels like I am getting a present.

I hope Alter Ego gets these soon. I canceled my Sideshow order ages ago and ordered with AE. They saved me a ton of money.

Well... I waited at my house until 6pm last night with Roger Moore being a NO SHOW I had to leave for a Hockey game and when I returned there was a note saying that the FedEx guy arrived at 8:40!!!! I did not know that they delivered that late.

I completely understand why SIdeshow wants a siganature for their PFs... I just feel totally trapped in my house when an item is going to arrive. Today (Saturday) I have not left the house because I do not want to miss the FedEx guy a second time. If I miss him 3 times they will drop off my package at the FedEx building an HOUR away. I feel very annoyed right now...

Now I am VERY FRUSTRATED..... My Roger Moore arrived tonight and guess what.... It was NOT Roger Moore. Sideshow charged me $250 for a Roger Moore PF and sent me a stupid 12" Brosnan. Grrrrr... I am mostly frustrated because now I have to call, ship Brosnan back, wait for them to send out my real order, and worst of all.......wait around another whole day so that I do not miss the FedEx guy.

I know it is just a mistake but I am really bummed right now.

I'm sure the FedEx man looked at the shipping label and thought that it was the lightest 17 pound package he had ever delivered.

I'm also wondering when Alter Ego is going to get there stock. I have it on order from them. I'll shot off an e-mail and check the status.

I am not having much luck with this PF...

1) bought and paid for Bond last October

2) recieved a broken PF - just like everyone else

3) had Sideshow keep my money so that when the replacements shipped I did not have to worry about paying for him and they could ship him a.s.a.p.

4) About 10 days ago I recieved a notice that the new Bond was shipping.

5) Last Friday, March 16 I waited unitl 6:30pm at my house to sign for the package but I then had to leave... I missed the FedEX guy at 9:00pm.

6) Waited at my house ALL day Saturday, March 17 until FedEX guy showed up around 8pm.

7) Recieved the WRONG item (I was sent a 12" Brosnan - that I did not order instead)

8) Called Sideshow on Monday and was harrased for about 10 min. before the employee (I will not mention her name) believed me. She said that Sideshow would not make that mistake.

9) Sideshow employee said that they would contact me in 8-10 buisness days to settle the problem.

10) I called back to talk to someone else because I felt 8-10 days was bull crap since they already had my $ and I had no product.

11) Talked to Aimee and she was super cool and said she would send me a return lable within 24 hours.

12) 72 hours later I still had no return label and I called back to Sideshow to find out that my spam blocker likely trashed the email.

13) Thursday night (3/22) I recieved the new shipping label but it was NOT MINE... it was for someone else.

14) On Friday I got the right label but I could not drop off the package.

15) So now... Finally on Saturday 3/24 I am going to drop off the package at FedEX so that they can send me my Roger Moore PF.

I do not really blame Sideshow for this problem but I a have been bummed and frustrated. The only time I was unhappy with Sideshow was with how the 1st employee treated me. She did not treat me BAD but she was kind of rude I thought... Anyway, I am now off to drop off my package in hopes to recieve Roger Moore next week.

...I pray that he stays intact on his 4 hour journey to my house.
