Made a lot of progress on my Chewie this weekend... No pics at the moment, but I'll get on it.

First, if anyone is lucky enough to have clparker04 make a bandolier for your Chewie you should be beyond pumped! He does GORGEOUS work. Paul, I can't thank you enough!

Second, I slightly modded the cast that Paul sent me by moving the nose back a bit. I then painted up the eyes, nose and mouth and started the hair process. the neck is just about finished, so mine looks a lot like his does in the post above. :) Very exciting!!

Im going to get one from him next month by that time i will have head and payment from some customs im doing.

Im going to be picking up two colors of fur since i have been rewatching and pausing movie. he looks different from ANH to ESB. but the golden brown and espresso brown fur remain the same color.

Look forward to my mod. Just picked up a yoda with ebay pay latter thank god for that the medi was going for 89 that is the cheepest i ever saw for yoda by either company.

so you got the medi yoda if so great job. I love mine better then the sideshow

I know people gripe about the medi yoda head with body but i don't see shelling out a hundred so dollars for a body swap on this. he was a puppet with a big head and small body. I saw the puppet on auction and he kinda looked like a cabbage patch body lol just super scrony. I am wondering if 5.5" might be to tall since he was only 2.5' in the film. he is almost knee high literally So i will need to see him.

Next month im getting some supplies for chewie and then again in feb. and when I get out for summer break he is totally getting finished. Im doing the glueing to the body technique.

I think it will take about a month to complete him properly with drying time and hair placement.
Elvis had the right idea with chewie. just wrong body. flossi knows which body im using and the dude is a freak of nature but for chewie it's perfect because the actor was freakishly thin and tall. i saw pics of him on the dvd set i got.

I still need to find someone who will make the crossbow before i have to keep the Kenner/Hasbro one out of shame

I don't know if that would work because the hair might conflict with the joints and get tangled up. the method that we used seems to work just great. but good luck if you try

the hair is long and on the figure im using the joints are small so i will be glueing just above those spots so they will be quite hidden.I can always make a sleeve out of panty hose and sew them into the joint area.

your willing to go through all that hard work and you could just buy a couple of furry chewbacca`s to make a suit out of would be easier in my book. I guess you can show off your progress as you go this I would like to see and if you can do it you could make up some suits for sale.

Well a fur suit would add thickness even if i took it in to be slim like the body. and cost wise the hair is cheaper to just buy than 2 chewies hell i could buy fur cheaper than that and make a suit. but chewbacca has two different color hair where it's layered. with golden brown and espresso brown.

I don't know It's probably going to take me all summer to create that masterpiece. Unlike my Joe's I'm taking a very long time on my star wars figs because i want them to be immaculate. It took me a long time to find the oatmeal brown linen for obi-wan kanobie and it virtually matches his on screen color. I am going to take an acryilic paint marker to make his puzzle piece stains on the garment under left arm and right shoulder.

I went with 4 fabric choices before i chose princess leia's white dress fabric.

I'm making luke two shirts since i couldn't make up my mind on color.

han I am ok with, i have to take in the crotch seams because the figure i am using is normal compaired to sideshows old bodies which are like the bbi bodies with the atrocious crotch with flat butt.

chewie will get the same care.
I might consider it if you make me a copy of your statue's bow caster. if you buy the materials if mine is a success.

Here's an update on Chewie. Head hair is a WIP, of course.

The neck is done, and I should have taken a pic of the back of the head as I'm working my way up. The mustache and spot between the eyes was just a bit of a test.

flossi I think the legs might need to be longer in relation to the arms or the crotch seam needs to be higher, it just doesn't seam right i don't know his legs just appear to be stumpy

Looks incredible, those arms....total Chewy and the best I have seen out there...ever. Awesome.

I agree, I think once you thin the hair down with something the legs will look longer. Chewy basically had dreds. Not the rastfarian (sp) type but his hair got matted and that thinned the look out.

Really looking forward to this being finished.

It just needs to be futzed and adjusted. The legs are a couple inches longer than they appear in these pics.

Yea I'm sure it just looked odd is all. so are you darkening his fur in spots as well?
