Yeah my order is still active and I received the cancelation email a couple of weeks ago. I think there will be more conversions later on. I will update the list when I get more time.
I think if you have the funds it may be worth the risk. I mean the guy has great feedback and has sold items at $500.00 plus. He just does not seem to show any signs of being a scammer. If he had only like 25 ratings and they were all him as a buyer or just a seller of $1.25 phone covers then I would say "STAY AWAY" but with all the great feedback on expensive items it just seems like a legit deal.

It stinks to high heaven man, no way would I put that amount of money down up front on ebay of all places and hope for the best, regardless of stellar feedback.

I get that but the main obstacle for me (like many here) is why anyone would sell this rare piece not only for cost (considering he would likely be selling to someone who themselves would flip the purchase) but at a loss. Still not buying it.
I can fully understand that line of thinking no doubt. But I also understand that if the clean droids were a grail for someone and they feel they had to have them and they have the funds then I personally can understand why someone might want to take the chance with this "ewok" seller.
What I don't understand is some of the anger thrown at CBG way. It's his money and he is the one who stands to gain or lose. I don't know if it drives some crazy that he might get the clean droids at a good price and they are angry because he took the chance and they did not or what. I just don't see the logic getting into this argument.
I mean I personally have bought high end product on the bay and have never had to leave bad feedback. However I have never pre ordered anything off of ebay either and don't think I would. But it's CMG money and he will either greet us with his great news early next year or he will be greeted with lots of "I told you so's"
Seems like he is the only one to lose or gain so why get angry at him?
He has a breakdown of costs on the ebay listing. Seems he won't lose any money.
I get why it sems shaddy but perhaps he is not out for a profit. Perhaps he bit off more than he could chew by pre ordering three and he does not want to pay the cancel fees. I don't know.
Again I understand where everyone is coming from. There are red flags all over the place. I personally would not take the chance. But like I said I don't get why some are getting so heated by this. Perhaps I did not read back far enough and CBG was a real d**k about this a few more pages back then I read.

Agreed that it's CBG's money on the line so no-one really ought to be getting upset with him if he wants to risk it. I think the issue is broader though in that more than a few suspect CBG to be some sort of troll account. Also, some people tend to get annoyed if their advice is solicited but then not taken.

Yeah, I see where ewok added his breakdown costs. I think it may be that its just so rare to see someone not gouging other collectors it falls into the "to good to be true" realm.

If he's such a great guy, though, why hoard 3 sets, just so he can sell for cost later? I'm sure anyone that wanted to cancel this could do so with no fees from Sideshow.

Hey I'm going to email ewok for the second set if no one buys this cancel set. I need to trade for prime or gambit.

After all, ewok does read this forum, and WAS ASKED to show a breakdown, yet he didn't do it here, not to reveal himself, instead he put it on the auction page.
If he's legit, why not just say it in here?

I think that is a stretch to make him out to be some mystery troll account. Perhaps I don't know what that means. I will have to look at other threads to see why he gets under so many other peoples skin.
As far as some getting upset because they were asked for advice but it was not followed well I guess I could understand if it was your best friend, wife, girlfriend, family etc..... but a faceless forum member who's final decision does not effect anyone here one way or the other? I don't get it.

The reason he could do this, if he wasn't legit, is because the Droids are more than 60 days away, which is also eBay's period for leaving feedback. So if he didn't ship CBG the Droids, then CBG would be entitled to no protection from eBay or Paypal and he wouldn't even be able to leave bad feedback to warn future buyers. So the seller would STILL have 100% and ebay would do nothing about it. So his reputation isn't on the line.

This is true. I just don' see someone who has sold as much as he has suddenly deciding to rip off people but I could be wrong of course.

if he reads the forums, why not try to sell it here? Why go through ebay which takes 10% of your money, if you're sure to sell it here too.

I use the term "troll account" in a very loose sense that quite a few think CBG is not for real -- not in the most negative sense of coming here to insult or be rude to others.
Personally speaking, for reasons I don't want to elaborate on too much, I could see him being what he says he is but I can also see the other side and it wouldn't surprise me if one day he says the whole thing was a lark. He just seems to enjoy getting other members all riled up about how or if he displays his stuff, what he buys, why he won't post pics, whether he'll chance this purchase, etc. That said, I agree with you that it's pointless to try and grief him until he submits photos or whatnot. I really don't care but I just wonder about it sometimes when I read his posts.
True, it's difficult to see when he could squeeze buyers for more. That is the only thing he has going for him. On the other hand, am I right in interpreting what others have said to mean that if he has ripped other people off on pre-orders more than 60 days out that there is no recourse whatsoever available to the buyer? Either to leave comments or a rating or anything?
