Thanks took. I have the reg coming on Tuesday. Does anyone know the width of the reg base?
I don't have the exact width in my head but you can fit another PF in with the droids in Besta but the base of that other PF can't be big. I think you have about 7,8-7,9 inches or so left of space.

C-3PO head has a massive dent on it like it's hit the corner of a desk or something.

Also, not sure why they make the base that heavy given the figures weight hardly anything at all, best to save on weight and bring the shipping costs down. Not impressed with the quality of this.
If it's the dent on his chin (and one on his forehand), then that's supposed to be there and is movie accurate for the dirty and messed up droids. And for shipping costs, really can't complain on $25 from US to Norway with this size and weight! I don't think people would be happy had the base been very light as well...

As for R2, yes he feels cheap because of all the plastic. But I won't be playing with him so now that I have set him up he will be for the most part be standing where he is on display. And he may not feel fantastic but he LOOKS amazing! That's what matters most to me..

All good. Basically, it didn't look right to me without some sort of black line (be it inside the panel or outside).

I wanted to do it outside as it should be, but the outside is the panel edge so I sacrificed and put in on the inside.

Looked too "empty" to my eye without a black line.

Oh ok! I like the way you did the black line... It's too bad SSC did not do something to get it to have that line.

Just received the C-3PO and R2 and can' believe how cheap it's made. R2 weighs almost nothing, complete plastic, they put some lead in it to weigh it down but mine came un-stuck and was rattling inside, the 4 pieces of glue they used to stick it fell out of R2. C-3PO head has a massive dent on it like it's hit the corner of a desk or something. At this price point this looks like a complete joke. Sideshow need to lift their game their quality issues are very disappointing. I'll be sending mine straight back to the supplier. I think the lead was the part of the magnet for the retraining bolt. If you keep it I would call SSC.

Dent is supposed to be there.

Got my ex earlier this week, 1 word to describe it - disappointment.

I didnt bother to even set them up, the chrome paint on c3po's looks amateurish, the areas where there is detail you can see the paint stacked - signs it was just sprayed without much thought, lots plastics as well.

r2d2 finish actually looks better but no attempt were made to show the can as metal instead of plastic.

I dont have a big problem with plastic as many of you do, as long as it is done well, for $750 i expect it at least to be hot toys quality level - it is not.

Thing is repacked and in storage, i am deciding to leave it there or return to sideshow.

Not happy.

I don't blame you for any of those claims.
Quality should have been increased or price should have been decreased.

If I were in your shoes, I would sell them.

anyone else having trouble with R2's third leg staying up, if you want to have him standing straight?

Give a few of these to R2. Problem solved...

hm.
how come that restrainingbolt is on that panel? On mine it's on the panel next to that one, on the right. But this one is the correct place.

also, my restrainingbolts have a black base where they attack to the droids. hmmmm

Pretty sure its not SSs version Took.

Here is another small mistake. SS seems to have gotten the legs reversed. You can see the arrows point at the parts on R2 PF leg and that they are on opposite sides in the film footage.

Not a big deal but sure to drive some fans crazy :)

Of course it could just be depending on the scene because as you can see it is switched in these photos.

Well spotted JAWS. I remember seeing this in the Star Wars Blueprints book - so here is the official 1977 blueprint of R2, and you were right!

I believe it's a single mold to make R2's legs. The studio R2 has the same leg on his left side. Cheaper to produce, I guess.

However, that still doesn't excuse Sideshow. Those morons got it wrong. :pfft:Sideshow

I would be less concerned about silly details on his legs and more the fact that they made him as sturdy as a happy meal toy.

Haha is a dilemma for you then.

Which would you rather have, hollow plastic R2 with totally accurate legs or solid polystone R2 with inaccurate legs? :lol

Not sweating the small stuff here. Love mine and most wouldn't be able to spot something like that. Overall I think SS did a pretty good job.
