Where I am located, it's extremely humid. Tendency to rust is an ever present headache here. :(
I'm in Dubai so we're both more or less in the same boat. I think more so here at some times during the here. Just keep them away from direct sunlight and keep the room ventilated.

Hey guys, sorry the update has taken forever to post but at last I can finally reveal my new custom 'Yavin' Display Base for my Droids Exclusive Premium Format :) I've tried my best to take some okay-ish pics but nothing compares to seeing these two amazing characters on display and in 1/4 scale. Really lucky to have this piece in my collection and now I can finally be at peace with hopefully no more Droid bases planned for the future :lol :lol

Finally, a massive shout out to our fellow freak 'Jedster' who totally pulled this base off to exactly how I wanted it :clap

Wow they look great Roberto!! That base really makes the Ex version look 100 times better then the original bases did. Congrats!:duff

very nice.. even I liked the first one better :)

Very nice! This one is a little more screen accurate, but your old base was still very classy looking. Looks great!

Thanks so much for the great comments guys :hi5: really appreciate it ;) whether the original custom base was your favourite or that new one looks more movie accurate, one things for sure is that it's a heck of a lot better than what Sideshow had offered for the exclusive! :lol :lol

Received my regular set today. Really impressed with these 2, i think they are great and i can't believe it's taken me this long to pick these up.

Getting the batteries in C-3PO's head was a right pain in the arse, doesn't help that the magnet in the faceplate keeps trying to pull the batteries away when your trying to get them to fit. Couldn't get the light-up feature to work at first but saw DarthChrisDK youtube video but still wouldn't light-up as his does. Had to leave batteries sticking out a bit for it to work. :dunno

Nice addition sir. The batteries are a giant pain in the arse. I have to fiddle with mine constantly to get it to work. Glad I don't turn em on much. Looks great!

Congrats on the new addition. They are an awesome duo to add to any collection.

Nice pick up Sithlord.:hi5: I agree about the batteries!:gah:

Congrats on the Reg Simon :clap looks great buddy :) glad so many have managed to pick these guys up. I do feel that they are such iconic characters and Sideshow did swell job at recreating them in 1/4 scale :)

Love the base, Andy!

Thanks so much Chris :duff just fixing something which Sideshow should've taken care of in the first place ;) thankfully, there are some amazingly talented sculptors/painters/customizers out there who are able to help put things right or better still, transform a great piece to an even greater piece whether it be a new headsculpt or an alternate arm...so a big shout out to all those guys :)

Hi guys, mine finally arrived from Singapore. When I took it out of the box I noticed a lot of rattling from R2. Closer inspection revealed that a metal plate inside him had come loose from the glue

At first I thought it was a magnet but I was wrong. I think it serves as a weight for R2. Am I right or does it serve another purpose? I have since removed it from him and he is displaying fine without it. I'm just curious to know what is this...

It's gotta be dead weight. As long as it doesn't affect displaying him I'd say you got off easy. Congrats and enjoy em! Take some further pictures if you have time to share.

It might be the plate where the restraining bolt attaches to as it is magnetized and need something metal inside the body to stick to.
