It does look like that, but I can't tell for sure if the piston assembly is actually telescoping or if something else is going on. I don't know enough about the actual C-3PO costume to say for sure, but I didn't think it had this groove on the forearms, which the piston assembly appears to be moving along.

You can see that the bottom part of the assembly is on the other end of the groove in other shots, like this one. Even though the end of the assembly is in a different place, the length of the piston appears to be the same.

Either way, if they pulled off this kind of articulation, it's very impressive.

You can see in the pics that one of the thin rods of the telescoping parts has been bent/messed up as SSC moved the arms around for the photo shoot. And yes, threepio costume does have those long grooves.

Sorry, but I just don't like C-3P0 enough to pay that much for a PF (the Exclusive).

R2-D2, on the other hand, is the best. I stopped hardcore SW collecting years ago, but I still buy pretty much anything R2. This set is over-priced (at least the Exclusive is), but I want that R2.

Now, if I can flip Exclusive 3P0 for a decent sum, I might use that money to pick up the Regular PF set of both from a retailer. We shall see. I wouldn't mind owning both R2s, but no way do I want 2 3P0 PFs.

I'm still nonplussed that there is no option to buy either one separately. That's just not cool.

I think it might be hard to sell a lone C-3PO.

Depending on how the final product comes out, I will likely be in the market for a "clean" PF threepio alone, but more in the "let's split the price 50/50 (well, maybe 55/45)" spirit...

I don't have a need for a 1/4 R2, and was bummed when you couldn't get the threepio figure alone.

I do think that - like the "clean version" HT Luke Bespin - there will be a few sole 1/4 Threepios on the market in the months after release.

That would be true if Sideshow had announced the time they were going up for pre-order. Not everyone checks their email or surfs the web on their phone every 5 minutes.

I'm not even allowed to have my phone at work.

That was just a silly remark by him anyway.

I assumed that the pre-order would be around 1pm PT, which would be 4pm my time, I was wrong.

Nope. I'm an MRI tech working in an RF shielded room in the basement of a huge hospital. I get no signal.

Plus I have an android, no Iphone

I was going to have an MRI once on my head and neck and I panicked and couldn't do it.

No iPhone here either. I work minium wage at mc donalds. It was busy I had no lunch time. And someone call out sick so I had to do a double. Not even time to go to the bathroom. So can't afford a iPhone.

Personally I miss the days for PPO's when Sideshows servers would explode as soon as it went live. Even if you were there the second it dropped there was no guarantee you would get anything. Memories...

But at least you knew the time and the adrenaline rush was amazing!

It is not like there is much mystery as to when Sideshow puts up new products everyday. It is around 1 eastern each day so far so just check the site a little after 1 to see if there is something that day you want.

Are you saying that the droids went up at 1 pm est and sold out by 2pm?

Yuck......I'm two hours late on the waitlist.

It would've been nice to know that they were going up at 1pm though. I would've never guessed that since that would be 9am in Cali.

Is this the first edition size listed as TBA to sell out in a few hours? I thought if the edition was TBA they give a week or so to so how many to make. Seems strange. I guess already knew the edition size.

That's what I thought! I doubt they can cancel now without losing the NRD.

Anyway.......does anyone know if it's because of the seperate bases that the EX is $25 more than the Reg?

NOT! Honestly, I do own both phones, and it would be nice if Sideshow does have the text capability. But . . .for the money, I'll scour Ebay for the Reg as $750 is expensive for 2 peons like this.

And I'm with Josh -- no way I'll give up my EX RWOS PF for these 2.

The only reason I would bite is because I am scared of SS messing the paint up on the reg. Otherwise I think the reg is better in just about every way.

If it was not for lack of a single base I might jump on that deal just to avoid possible paint issues but as it is the reg is the way to go for me.

But for those who like the two sperate bases and got the EX then congrats for i am sure it will look awesome on display.
