Flexpay was useful when it gave you an extra month, but now it's less than worthless because now SS earns the interest on your money so it actually costs you more with Flex Pay.

It doesn't cost you extra, interest would be from a bank or whatever they do with the money they have, so it doesn't hurt you but it helps them. That's why places like Gamestop push the preorders so much because it's free money until the game comes out

Here is the wait list I started tracking earlier in this thread. Those in bold have confirmed that their orders will be converted:

Sellout - 6/26 - approximately 18:13 GMT or 2:13pm EST

Wait list - 6/26/12

swabie2424 - 18:14
bountyfett - 18:15:44
took - 18:16:02
ST11138 - 18:17:52
IrishJedi - 18:23:37

Zodach - 18:26:23
newmennium - 19:27

I also converted. :wave

Really just want the R2, though, so I may try and flip the Ex. C-3P0 at some point.

that would be an easy sale, most people want the ex for the shiny c3po.

and the guy above meant with flexpay you lose the interest on the money you flexpay vs putting it in the bank or money market.

i also never understand why people use flexpay instead of just setting up a high yield checking account and deposit the money there. Why give to sideshow instead of keeping it yourself? Only explanation is lack of self control.

I wish I hadn't missed this pre-order. People on ebay already selling the pre order EXclusive for double... :( sigh

You can get a flex on a converted order. This is how:
After it converts, go to cancel it. Every time you try to cancel a full order you will get a pop-up with the option to switch to flex instead of canceling.

wow, with 2% interest per year, based on a 6 month period, that makes a total of a whopping 7 dollars.

and so what? It's my choice if I want to do it with flexpay. Lack of self control? who knows. So what? There's no need to look down on people for choosing the laxy flexpay method.
They're offering that option on most things, so why not on waitlist-converts?

calm down...

If you find one of these things, let me know. High yield bank or money market accounts don't really exist today, though I don't mind since I only pay 3% interest on my mortgage :hi5:

well the yield is around 1% right now :lol but really it's about giving money to someone else to keep for you that's odd...usually you only do that when it gives you some sort of advantage...

I really think that's overblown (i.e., the so-called 'advantage' of keeping your money in a chequing or savings account as opposed to parsing it out to Sideshow via Flexpay). I overpay my taxes, which I know drives some people up the wall, but it's just simpler for me to do so and get a return than have something owing and pay it out of pocket.

I've had savings accounts with $100k+ in them (inbetween selling one house and waiting to buy another, so not just casually, unfortunately) and the interest was pretty disappointing, to say the least. I'm with Took/Zodach on this one. I've seen a number of threads like this, and... WTF... it's none of your business what Took or anyone else does with their money. Not buying one stinking HT or WETA collectable would probably equal 20 years of 'interest' on flexpay payments, so don't worry yourself about it.

PS - Not just meant at you, specifically, gagaliya -- though I do think it's none of your concern! :p

err not sure why you guys think i care at all where YOU keep your money, was just discussing flexpay and why a "generic" person would do it since someone brought up the discussion

put the money in a kangaroo pouch for all i care :)

Meh, just sick of the tut-tutting I see in regards to flex-pay on a semi-regular basis but it's all good.

I updated the list below. I am less than 3 minutes away from converting.

I would think my chances are pretty good since they converted everyone from at least 18:14 through 18:23 for this round.
