Yeah for me COD 4 is still the ultimate COD game, but Black Ops for all it's flaws is head and shoulders above the Subpar MW2

I love how the multiplayer menu theme music has subtle undertones, nods, and melody taken from the COD 4 theme...which was superior to all. I hear that and I get taken aback to simpler time...one with 3 killstreaks.

theres a second during that theme that reminds me of the dark knight - dosent last for long but its there

Have to chime in, and agree completely with those that have said it, THE SPAWNS ARE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE IN THIS GAME! I thought the same about WAW and I think it's a Treyarch thing personally.

If they patch this issue it would help the MP tremendously and I would rank it up there with MW and MW2.

I don't expect them to work ALL the time but these are just horrendous sometimes. Spawning under choppers, spawning in front of the entire other team, spawning in front of the guy that JUST killed you in the same area. Unbelievable.

It's a COD thing in general, but what are you going to do?! It's the nature of the beast, getting spawned capped is frustrating but it could always be worse....it could be MW2.

Well, liked the campaign, story was good though I think it lacked the atmosphere ie: the WW2 & Vietnam just didn't feel like the era i was playing in etc just seem to generic. the MP I don't really like, some maps are good but too many the same not enough diversity in sizes and they all look a bit fake ie: not real world enough, not to mention the grenade throw is way to short in this game. luckily i got this game cheap

Well I thought some levels of Vietnam were very atmospheric, but overall I know what you mean. I'm pretty sure Battlefield Bad Company Veitnam will capture the era better than Black Ops.

As far as spawning goes, couldn't they just give newly spawned players 5sec. of invulnerablity? That would probably be easier then patching the map spawns.

The worst map for this IMHO, is Nuke Town(spawn, enemy team's always right there )

I know what you mean about Nuketown.
I can not work out why so many people keep voting for that map.

Yeah, nuke town is the worst as far as spawning goes. I agree with the idea of making folks safe for 5-10 secs give them a chance to get in the mix. Other than that I'm loving this game.

Yeah, it opens that can. Honestly, there's no perfect solution. The map I have the biggest issue with it is nuke town.

Me too. I usually back out and find another lobby. The RC cars are also starting to get really annoying.

I am loving the MP on this. WAY better than MW2. Really nice touch you can personalise the guns, reticules, etc.

It's all in game now. World at War stats were online but they included in your playercard menu...there are so many stats I can't even figure out them all. It shows you where you tend to shoot people, where die on maps, your ratio and hits with all weapons, etc...


So in depth.

Playing through the single player again is awesome, the story comes togeather much more smoothly and you notice a ton you didn't before.

The coolest thing is the more you aknowlege Resnov when he's with you, the more predominant he becomes, the more you look at him etc. In fact on the mission in Nam when you climb into the downed plane with the Nova 6, I noticed the first time I did it I said "Kravshenko, he must die" as Mason, but the second time playing through it came out in Resnov's voice, even though they responded back to Mason.

I don't use the sniper rifles often but it sure seems they have been dumbed down in this COD. So far i'm loving the Famas with suppressor and scope and the M60 with dot and hand grip.

I was favouring the Famas, but started using the M16 with red dot and supressor, since with it's 3 shot burst in hardcore matches I only need to fire the gun once to drop an opponent. And prefer the AK74u also with a supressor for when I'm wanting to use a SMG.

The emblem and clan tag thing on the gun is quite cool, but today I've seen 2 or 3 separate people with swastika's on their bloody guns. Tit-heads!
