The way I look at it is that I could be like some of the guys I work with and spend 2-3 hours a night at the bar after work but instead I use my free time to play COD.

Gaming is probably more cost effective. One night at the bar= $30-40 depending on what you drink and how generous you are. Do that a couple nights a week and it gets expensive.

Totally agree, a guy at work says he drops $80 on Friday and then goes out on Saturday again to bars and what not. I mean thats fine if thats your thing, but I actually save money gaming :D Keeps me inside.

Oh wow. That's a chunk of cash. I've done that a couple times, but only when I'd go out to hit the clubs. Maybe I'm just getting more frugal the older I get, but an $80 bar tab is nuts if he's only paying for himself. Is he going out to Channelside for that kind of damage??

Paying for elite is for suckers. Especially if youre just a casual player

Yes and no, it has not been worth it up until now, but I'll take two months of new maps in front of alot of people. It give you time to learn them and figure out all the stupid spots where people will camp and snipe. We also really don't know yet the other " perks " of the elite package yet as well, you never know what they will throw in there in the future. Lastly it $50, i spend that much every three days on Monster energy drinks and cigars! Lol

^^yeah I agree with the Yes and No stance. It's worth it if you still spend plenty of time playing it as you get that head start in learning the maps. Especially since there will be at least two more map packs released for this game. It's not worth it for me as I've been spending more time playing Skyrim than I do anything else right now. I do jump on for MW3 every couple of days because my buddy in Korea plays it all the time, and it's easier to catch up with him while we're playing online.

What really sucks about Elite and new packs all together is that I have this game on both systems so therefore if I want Elite for both, I end up spending $100 for all the maps. Now the reason I have this game on both platforms is because I have friends that only play on the Xbox and honestly for online gaming, the Xbox is the best. That being said I actually game more in the PS3 because its just my go to system in my mancave...the Xbox is the family room. So do I shell out $100 and buy Elite for both systems or just flip a coing? From what I read, Elite users for even the PS3 will not be seeing new content until well after the regular Xbox users without Elite accounts so when the hell is that going to be?

Good question! Another thing I thought of about elite is all of the contests they have and there are a bunch of them. It's cool to go though your valt and upload the things that they ask for, I'll probably never win anything but it's cool freezing your recorded past battles looking for that one perfect photo. Still need to add you as a friend, try to do that when it get home.

Sounds good! My vault is actually empty on the 360. I need to start saving my good games. I'll probably end up getting Elite for the 360 and file sharing the maps on the PS3 with my buddy that just got Elite.

I'd get Elite for whichever one you'll be spending the most time playing online with friends. Especially if they're planning on getting Elite as well.

With PS3 file share, I should be able to get my buddies maps and downloaded content pretty easily...if not, I'll probably break down and get Elite for the PS3 as well. I only buy one or two games a year...call of duty being one of them so if I end up spending an extra $100 bucks to have all the content for both systems, its not big deal.

If the new maps are the same size as the rest, it will only take a look at a vid of the map at youtube and a few matches and then the rest of us has caught up with you elitepeople

Ah, but game play as well as experience time is key I'm afraid, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you nor anyone else is going to master a map by a few quick glances! ;) lol The park map they say is wide open, could take more than a few matches. I run and gun they say it is a snipe map, for me it'll take a little time to overcome all the snipers to do what I do best. The other one is up close, should be right up my alley.
