Considering the fiasco that marred the Obi-Wan preorder today. Do you think it will be even worse when Aragorn goes on sale on the 13th?:horror

With the reaction I've seen to the Aragorn I don't think it will be all that bad. I will be there right on time to get mine but I don't think it will be a big problem.

I would be shocked if it were as bad. People have been collecting Star Wars toys and collectibles for years. Until recently, Lord of the Rings fans had to make do with reading the book. LOTR toys are a more recent phenomenon, and are still building up steam (and this line will surely help). Time will tell if it continues over the years with the strength that Star Wars has shown. In general, I would guess that Star Wars accounts for more collectible dollars each year than LOTR, and that probably reflects a larger collectible fan base. Plus, I haven't heard much controversy or debate about the Obi-Wan sculpt, just pretty much universal praise. Many people are not as happy with Aragorn's face. (He will still sell out fast.)

i dont think the 12inch lotr figure will have as much deman/frenzy as the 1/4 PFs.

Yes I can, I have a very good idea, in fact.

MMm i think not because SW for example lets take Hasbro as an example there are like 30 variants of Han Solo and the variant is that is have black ink in the hand, is the merchandise of SW, its ok business are business, Hasbro will not leave the trademark that make them richer, LOTR since Tolkien sold the Tolkien Enterprises with the rights of LOTR and the Hobbit in 1968 toys exist, ToyVault is one example they made those figures in 1998 and there are many more with Bakshi LOTR movie (1978) figures also came with it and there are other series so i think is not a recent phenomenon is really old but now with this movie trilogy hit, Warner Brothers will not lose the way to $$$$ and also it depends in the fans thats sure.

Oh, and by the way the exclusive is a full size Brego! Limited to 100 pieces - same price as the regular Aragorn...

Now that would be a great Friday the 13th!

But unfortunately he looks nothing like Brego - he looks more like Mr. Ed LOL

Seriously, though? I think the accessory will be nothing more than the Evenstar pendant.

That's too integral to the character imo.

Not sure what they'll include as the exclusive, I don't remember him handling anything not really necessary to the character. Maybe the torch from Weathertop...

Vlad, that would really be a disappointing exclusive for me, bordering on "crap-ta-cular"*, in my opinion.;) It's simply too small, in my opinion. You would probably barely be able to even see the thing at that scale. I really am hoping that it's something of more substance, in terms of size. I'd rather it be an Elven dagger or even Boromir's arm braces, for example.

Little confused here, this is a Newsletter priority pre-order. Isn't it going to handled just like Lurtz SSE? The whole site is going down except to order Aragorn Exclusive. Sign-into your account and go right to the order page, smooth as silk. Am I wrong?

You are correct. Just go to the home page (https://www.sideshowtoy.com) after 10 AM (or refresh the page after 10 AM) and it'll prompt you for your info if you want to pre-order the Aragorn.

The key here will be to GIVE IT TIME TO LOAD - there will most likely be more traffic for this pre-order than for Lurtz, so the prompt for your password may take longer this time - let it load fully and don't keep hitting refresh :)
