Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Peak of human conditioning does not grant you a healing factor that allows you to wake up after decades frozen in ice, it doesn't allow you to bail out of an airplane without a parachute at an altitude of hundreds of feet and hit the water feet first, it doesn't grant you superhuman strength and agility, nor does it allow you to easily leap 50+ feet. I'll agree that Cap sees more action in Avengers, but it's ridiculous to claim he's not "super human."

Watch the Olympics to see the peak of human conditioning and then compare that with Cap. HUGE difference. :lol

Well, what we label it is besides the point I am trying to make. The point is that he is still the most human of the "supers" or whatever you want to call them. He is not a God, nor does he have a rage fuelled monstrous alter-ego or a weaponsied suit of armour to do his fighting for him.

Out of the suit, Rogers would knock Stark out with one punch. And you can tell that Stark knew that when Rogers threatened him in The Avengers.

That means nothing though, given Rodgers has the SSS in his bloodstream. That's like Loki (who Rodgers went toe-to-toe with) threatening Tony. Hell, at one point in TFA, Rodgers even admits it when he explains how much he ISN'T like a human when he can't get drunk.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Ok, sounds like I wasn't too far off then. Speculative, of course. But there were a couple of things that he did in Winter Soldier that made me think "woah, can he actually do that??" I didn't think so. ;)

It's not a complaint, I absolutely loved the movie. But there were definitely a couple of times in this movie where I thought I was watching Superman, not Captain America.

ETA: After thinking about it, it's really no different than some of the spills that Iron Man walks away from. That fall from the sky in IM3 in Tennessee where he goes flying through the forest...totally should have killed him. A metal suit of armor provides very little cushion. ;)

Ok, I think we are all kind of missing what we are each trying to say here... but never mind!

What you see him do in CA:TWS is what you should expect to see in any Captain America comic book.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I found out the other day that the hulk isn't actually real. Broke my heart :monkey2

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I have some questions! Spoilers!

Falcon will be joining the Avengers 2?

Are we going to see Winter Soldier Again in Captain America 3? My guess if this going to happen , the plot will be about Cap and Falcon tracking Winter Soldier, then he will join the good guys and finally together they are going to fight a new unknown Villain?

I think wikipedia sums up his abilities pretty well:

Captain America has no superhuman powers, but through the Super-Soldier Serum and "Vita-Ray" treatment, he is transformed and his strength, endurance, agility, speed, reflexes, durability, and healing are at the zenith of natural human potential. Rogers' body regularly replenishes the super-soldier serum; it does not wear off.[110]

The formula enhances all of his metabolic functions and prevents the build-up of fatigue poisons in his muscles, giving him endurance far in excess of an ordinary human being. This accounts for many of his extraordinary feats, including bench pressing 1200 pounds (545 kg) and running a mile (1.6 km) in 73 seconds (49 mph/78 kph).[130] Furthermore, his enhancements are the reason why he was able to survive being frozen in suspended animation for decades.

Nam pretty much hit the nail on the head..... while he he doesn't have 'super powers' he is a Super Soldier, and his abilities far surpass an Olympic class athlete because of his superior metabolism.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I thought Hawkeyes original costume looked alot like it had Swordsmans pattern working into the design, the coat really makes me think of that, but of course it would need to lose the sleeves.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I'm digging the soundtrack, although I wish they give each hero a theme and stick with it throughout all the movies.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I know what you mean, I wish they kept the same theme throughout the Iron Man movies, however I actually like the themes from Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3.

They do use Silvestri's Captain America theme from The First Avenger in The Winter Soldier though.

Weren't there similar elements to the IM themes? Not the guitar parts, but the orchestral parts. I know Thor was completely different though. :(

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

They were similar in the sense that they were all orchestral and rock orientated, and I guess they did have similar structures, but we're very different too.

Iron Man theme

Iron Man 2 theme

Iron Man 3 theme

I dig the Ramin Djawadi Iron Man theme but the Brian Tyler is a close second. The rock element of it screams Philanthropist, Billionaire, Playboy and oh yeah...I'm Iron Man too.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Thor 2 is the worst OST. Absolutely nothing memorable there. I'm guessing AOU will scrap the avengers theme :(
