Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

How are you guys watching the movie? I'd like it to watch in one of the 'premium" screening rooms like IMAX or ULTRA AVX but it's 3D everywhere. They only offer non-3D for the regular, ****** *** screening rooms. I was wondering how it is in other countries. Do they "force feed" you guys 3D where you live?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I watched it on Vue Xtreme the second time around

It ain't exactly imax but it's also not your standard screen either

Non 3D thank god. I really dislike 3D

yes, here in malaysia they also "force feed" you the 3D. and that really p!sses me off! i wanted to experience the film on an imax screen but they only had it with 3d. imax was awesome, but as mentioned in my review earlier, the 3d is simply useless. doesn't bring anything whatsoever to the viewing experience. in fact, it got in the way of immersing myself in the action, which is opposite to 3d's intent.

i'm gonna watch it again next week on a "normal" 2d screen.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

They were showing an avengers/WS soldier double bill here at the proper imax theatre but it was 3D only :( I wish it would die again already.

I'm suprised it's lasted so long, everyone I know can't stand it

but then again I don't know that many people so... pointless statment!

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Great film and it also had so much relevance to what is going on in America today, the growing threat of the military-industrial complex, staging terror attacks to control the population through fear, using the NSA to spy on those that are deemed a "threat" to the corrupt state and profiling them for elimination, the new world order, massive militarization of police against the public, corruption of senators etc, etc.

They even mention the real life project paperclip that involved rescuing high level Nazi scientists to work for the US government, with the nazi rocket engineer Wernher von Braun being the most famous, he basically ran NASA during the apollo missions.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Came in expecting the same old average Marvel film, but TWS definitely blew my expectations. It's up there with the Avengers IMO

How did a Sideshow Freak from Washington manage to see this movie I wonder?

Are you visiting England at the moment?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Can anybody explain Cap's shields in the movie? It seems like he has the traditional shield with the SHIELD suit, but I see there's images of a blue one and a "stripped paint" one, as well. Does he really have that many?

There are 2 Shields in the movie;

He uses his traditional red, white, and blue shield throughout the vast majority of the movie. He uses the blue and silver shield only once. During one of the opening scenes, Cap leads a S.H.I.E.L.D. Covert Ops team on a mission to rescue hostages from a large ship that has been hijacked by pirates. It is a stealth mission at night, so Cap uses the blue and silver shield, as the red, white, and blue shield would stand out too much.

The tarnished or 'stripped paint' shield does not feature in the movie at all. I think it was purely used for marketing purposes, to show the danger to the lead character.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Thanks, DK. I saw Hot Toys had one in their first preview pic, so I thought the "stripped" one was in the movie, as well.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yeah, Gentle Giant's 1:4 Captain America statue also includes the 'stripped paint' shield, not sure why? I think they obviously built and painted the prototype before seeing the film. I personally don't like the stripped paint look, the blue stealth shield is actually pretty cool. Obviously nothing beats the red, white and blue though!

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

watched this 3x already here in Singapore.. and its all cos of BLACK WIDOW

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

how much of the film is cap wearing the new stealth suit vs the WW2 suit?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Tickets booked for tomorrow at 7pm, can't wait!

:yess:

Cap fights quite a lot in civilian clothing too in this movie (with his shield obviously). I would say it's probably an even split between Stealth Suit, Cap in Civilian Clothing, and WWII Suit. It's pretty much;

1st act - Stealth Suit
2nd act - Civilian clothing
3rd act - WWII Suit

Just finished rewatching Cap 1 and Agent Carter in prep for this :rock Can't wait!

Yeah, rewatching The First Avenger before seeing this is definitely a good idea.
