I am going to miss Tommy Lee Jones and Hayley Atwell, Probably Hugo Weaving, as well.

Taking Captain America into the future and leaving him there for a sequel without any of the supporting characters I loved is not the most exciting concept for me. Doing that in The Avengers works because of Iron Man, Thor, etc. Put put him front and center in a stand alone sequel that ditches the characters and context of the original, and it just won't have the same feel. I think the Avengers series of films should capture the "fish out of water" Cap in modern society while his own sequels should maintain the period feel that worked so well. I will definitely be seeing CA2, but I'd be more interested if I knew they were keeping the setting and fleshing out his WWII adventures.

Hear hear!

I'm a little lukewarm about the first movie, but I'm hoping the sequel will be better. The Avengers movie wouldn't be able to really explore Cap's character since it's a real ensemble piece. But a solo movie would really be able to delve into his character dealing with being in a different time and having lost everyone he knew.

It seems like it'd be really difficult to put Cap back in WWII. They didn't leave a whole lot of room for some new story to be told in the the middle of the first one.

They could all come back. As their own grand children! Caps could tell stories and tales about how he knew them ect and general merriment will ensue

There are a lot of possible stories, characters and villains that could be done using flashbacks to combine current and WWII era stories.

I liked Captain America, but I'm honestly surprised at how well it did at the box office and how well reviewed it was. Concepts like patriotism and the symbolism of Red, White and Blue are viewed with such cynicism in today's word.

Insiders tell us that a field of ten directors has been whittled to just three for the follow-up to last summer's hit: George Nolfi, the writer-director of The Adjustment Bureau; F. Gary Gray, best known for directing The Italian Job; and, naturally … Community's Anthony and Joseph Russo?

“Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios’ president of production] is a ‘vibe guy,'” one source familiar with the talks explains about the unusual decision to include a pair of Emmy-winning comedy guys in the mix. Adds the insider, “He likes to see if he gets along with people before he’ll decide about spending the next two years with them. And apparently, they hit it off with Kevin in the room.” Though the pair have worked mostly in TV, directing other shows such as Happy Endings (which they also executive produce, along with Community) and Arrested Development, it wouldn’t be their first feature.
