Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

You need to be stopped immediately. Abso-****ing-lutely no. Lasers and fake faces, GI Joe 1 sure, Raiders? Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll No.

What an absolutely horrible comparison. Raiders is everything it could have been and didn't come close to.

:lol:lol:lol

oh, and :lecture

Raiders and Cap should not be used in the same sentence. :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The First Avenger was a refreshingly fun, light-hearted and entertaining movie, and is one of my favourite entries into the MCU

Captain America's character and Evan's performance was perfect in both TFA and TA, and the transition between movies was great

:exactly:

The end felt so rushed for the sake of him being in avengers where he was reduced to a joke character :(

Wrong

Too bad you're wrong. Because that IS the tone the filmmakers pretty much gave the film.

There's a difference between tone, and quality. You prissy *****. :lol

Yeah. They should. They absolutely should. Anyone who disagrees needs to be lit on fire and die with more hyperbolic insults thrown at them. :lol

But yeah. You guys need to lighten up. :lol

Acting all prissy. :lol

You could not have your head further up your own *** when it comes to your movie standards. It had neither. Cap didn't even live upto the Rocketeer and it's 1991 special effects.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

The Rocketeer is a better film. But you're not reading what i'm saying, once again.

I said tone. Tone. Not quality. AvP-R had an Aliens tone. Doesn't mean that **** was anywhere near as good.

You see what i'm saying? Do you get what i'm throwing down?

Raiders was a fun, adventure throw back to the serials of the 1930s. Cap was a throw back to the throw back to the serials of the 1930's.

Not Captain America is the best adventure film since Raiders. :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yes I completely get it, I'm still saying a resounding **** no.

They want me to believe Iron Man and Hulk etc are taking place in my universe, well in my history the nazis weren't the bad guys from Star Wars and didn't have Howard Hughe's size stealth bombers with little escape pod super tie fighters. Cap was one of those old school serials you speak of. He shouldn't be a throwback to anything, he should be based on his material.

Explain tech advances by saying Zola is really smart. Ok. He's so smart he single handedly created the laser gun, mastered fake skin and face tech, built advanced computers that were as good as the ones we have today.

None of that says fun throwback to 1930s like Raiders. If it truely was that, they would have used bullets and real vehicles instead of creating GI JOE cars and motorcycles for every single thing. The entire ww2 sequence could be a future war on another planet if they didn't have a USO show.

The Rocketeer is indeed a far better comparison to Indy from the same director. In tone or otherwise.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I got bored with TFA when they rolled out the space marine laser nazis, just looked goofy as hell even in that movie. He should have been giving SS faces a makeover with the shield.

Eh. You win. I don't feel like arguing about this movie. It's not worth it. :dunno

It's ok. It's not great. I don't hate the movie, and as I said, Evans surprised me, I just hate his Avengers helmet. But the comparison to something like Raiders is too wild and shouldn't happen even with tone.

That's absolutely what it should have felt like, which is what tone ultimately is, but it feels more like I'm watching a James Cameron future war playout than a WW2 prison break. That camp looks straight out of T: Salvation machine factory and nothing like a POW camp. The vehicles are not WW2, (no tiger tanks, halftracks, planes) the weapons are not ww2, the soldiers are armored Hellgast with Laser rifles. Moonraker 2.

In fact I'd argue the tone they chose was easily the biggest problem. If you're going out of your way to make a period piece, set it in that period. As a stand alone future noir alternate universe Flash Gordon movie, TFA was great.

I'd love a Killzone movie

As for Cap the reason they went all Sci-Fi was to set up the cosmic cube for the avengers.
