Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I personally don't mind them introducing the Steve Rogers: Director of Shield suit (I also find it silly to form a solid negative/positive opinion based on a grainy longshot). Since this is going to be a more espionage focused movie, rather than an over the top 'super hero' movie, a more subtle/tactical suit is totally warranted. So far, I like it better than the avenger suit, and the helmet looks like a variation of his TFA helmet. Looking forward to the Hot toys version.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

So I take it they kept Hawk eye out of this movie because the want to play up the romance with Blackwidow and you know who?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Blonde Scarjo is hot, but redheaded Black Widow ScarJo? Well, I miss Hayley Atwell.:drool

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It will be interesting to see if she knows who WS really is/was or if she is shocked to discover it. I also want to see if Zola was experimenting on Bucky while he was on that table. Zola was distressed to hear the skull was going to kill Erskine so maybe he was working on a version of the formula.

The classic comic version and its minor, modern updates all have certain characteristics that define Cap as Cap. Every movie version has taken some liberties or other, but this new one takes most liberties of all, taking away the red white and blue stripes on his abdomen. Looks a'aight as a generic super hero costume, but not so great as a suit for Cap in my eyes.

And if he were supposed to be engagin in espionage, and his suit was supposed to reflect this, I'm not sure the giant silver stripes/star, and gold (?) belt would be the best choices.

Belt looks brown to me.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Back to long hair for BW..... So glad I have the IM2 version rather than the Avengers one...., Just need to find a way of straightening the hair without melting it! - If the IM2 BW was already worth a ton on the secondary market, I can see it skyrocketing now.......

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I love all the hate posts - as always based on a pic taken 30ft away and grainy as **** :p

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I don't know about hate, but it's pretty clear what this costume is supposed to look like in a general way:

That was Steve Rogers in the comics, but not "Captain America" Some are cool with Marvel taking all the liberties they want to, some would prefer them to reign it in. There is room in this world for both opinions, and frankly, it's probably the conflict between those two PsOV that gives us the nice middle ground we've seen thus far with Marvel film costumes. If left to their own devices with no concern for the source material, we'd probably have more guys wearing indistinguishable black leather jumpsuits.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Costume looks fine, helmet is still a huge turd.

It's not him wearing a helmet, it's the way the one they have looks on his head. Like a swimming cap with built in goggles for really nerdy kids or something.

It fits him too much like a dlx Rubies costume. I see this and I can't help but think "what a dork."

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

He didn't look like a dork in the Avengers Film :dunno. The Avengers costume is still the better costume and more to the traditional comic look...The Hot Toys Avengers Cap figure is fantastic looking

Yes he most certainly did.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yeah, come on guys.. the Avengers suit isn't the best look at all. :lol

The soldier suit just trumps it - period.

Yeah - different setting / context, sure.. but it's a home run of a design - from top - to tail. :lecture

Evans looked much better though, with the silly mask thing OFF during Avengers. :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

The Avengers suit is my favorite one so far. It looks the most like Cap from the comics.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Avengers is my favorite as well. I can see why people say he looks dorky...but then again, CA has always looked a bit dorky. Pirate boots and fish scales :yess:

Yes, superhero costumes, by and large, look crazy and a bit silly, that's part of the fun. I'll never understand the obsession to make them look as bland and "real world" as possible. Hell, I'd loved to have seen a pair of buccaneer boots on the Avengers suit.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I like Caps suit and Widows new straight long hair. I wasn't a fan of her curly hair in Iron Man 2. I did like the shorter do in Avengers though.

Can't wait to see Sharon Carter! :rock

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Preferred Widows IM2 look over Avengers honestly, was more hot damn imo.

And as far as Cap goes, TFA suit so far has been the best and a return to that (or atleast the helmet) would be ballin.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

lol, the only thing difference from IM2 BW's overpowering curls and a powdered wig was the color.
