Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier
A couple things; the whole "Red in my ledger, and the convo with Hawkeye after he wakes up when they are discussing very dark times, she comes across as if she's talking about a particularly rough kegger she attended. When she is alone with Banner and he asks if they start spies that young and she says "I did", I'm sorry but that wasn't very believable. I remember Linda Fiorentino played a spy in a pretty forgettable movie called Gotcha but she did a convincing job. Lots of stuff under the surface. Scarlett, well the most she had under the surface was exposed on her hacked phone.
Idunno. I really liked those scenes because we got to see more of her and more of Scarjo's acting, but I just don't feel that she's some "special" character and I don't think that's Scarjo's fault.
She just comes off as your average, run-of-the-mill secret agent because of the way she's written. There's nothing really unique about her personality.
Maybe Scarjo is partially to blame for this, but I think most of the fault lies with how the character has been written.
