Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Not boring enough, needs more blue.

I guess I'm the only one in the world who hates that damn chin strap on the mask. I was so glad to see it gone in Avengers.

Yeah, but it's so "gritty and realistic!" . . .it actually reminds me of some of the DC Elseworlds-type stuff. I understand this happens with comic movies, but I don't agree with the logic behind it, and I don't care for it. I think he look more aesthetically pleasing than Avengers Cap for two reasons based on this picture--he looks bulkier here, and the helmet doesn't look so goofy somehow. But otherwise, you stick the same color scheme from Avengers here, and I think it works much better than what we're seeing, because he's losing less of what makes him special and distinctive as a comic character.

Once they start taking away the essential components of iconic costumes, what's next? Changing secret identities/back stories? Changing personalities (which we've already seen with both Iron Man and Hawkeye)? I think there are a handful of things that should be held over from the classic comics, and keeping the core costume is one of those things. But obviously film producers don't agree.

Opposite here. There was some separation between the helmet and collar which is what the suit needed. The Avengers suit made the whole thing look silly. Looked cheap too. IMO

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

See, the hood works in the comics because the artists fill out the suit with steroid muscles. It doesn't work with Evans because hes not Arnold big. The hood makes him look thin and unnatural. One thing he has going for him is his chiseled facial features which look great with the helmet style not the Avengers blue condom hood.

You got it.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I agree there could be some more red highlights on the new concept art but I will take that all blue suit over the avengers version any day.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yeah, the bright silver streaks and bold red on the shield have to make me question the stealthiness of that outfit. Sure, it could be LESS subtle somehow, but. . .

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I actually agree 100%. I think the arguments about "black leather with orange tiger stripes are way more believable than yellow and blue spandex" or "replace Cap's red with all blue is more believable and stealthy" are ridiculous.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It looks, pretty neat. I just wish they'd add some red in there.

There's red stripes like in the comic (looks like they even extend thro torso to his arms) you just can't see 'em on that last concept art.
