I can understand competition with Fast 7... but with the sequel to retarded PotA reboot and yet another Hercules no one heard about?

It is afterall a Marvel Studios movie with SLJ and Scarlett Cowhansson.

I don't think Fast 7 will be much competition. It might knock Cap off on the release weekend, but I see it petering down afterward, bumping Cap back up. Dwayne Johnson as Hercules is going to be a hard sell, so by the time that comes around, that's a coin toss but Cap should already have pretty solid numbers by then.

A July release would have been choice for Cap 2 but I can see why they went for an April release, like Vivek said... less competition.

Rise of the POTA was an excellent film and I look forward to seeing Dawn of the POTA. The other movies (Fast 7 & Hercules) I can wait for the video rental.

I'll have to see all of those in the theater.

I wouldn't underestimate FF7, that series has become a huge financial win, although a July opening for this series might actually hurt it.

Moving Cap to 7/4 makes huge sense for me, I hope Disney does it.

While it would make sense for Cap to come out around 7/4, if they're done with the movie by April and are just gonna hold it for 3 months and not do much with it, they may as well just keep the April release date.

Hell, make it a March release with the blu-ray coming out around July 4th and I'll be even happier.

Nah, spend a bit more on hyping it through commercials and merchandise. The more people who are excited about it, the bigger it'll be (assuming it can hold up to the hype).

Knowing them, it just means they can relax for another 3 months

But yeah, as much as I love Cap, after Thor 2, I'm most excited for the Guardians movie and I much prefer Disney try to hype the hell out of that movie because they're gonna need it a lot more than Cap.
