Not familiar with 80's Cap so I don't have an opinion on that.Part of the point of having *anyone* put on the Cap suit is to show that no one fills the shoes like Steve. That's why you have these great storylines like with John Walker in the 80's. So leaning into it with the John Walkers and the Bucky's is part of the fun.
This I can see.Having him be a "nice" guy (black or otherwise) who does just as good a job is a disservice to Steve
While I fully agree with the above statement just on the face of it, I don't think that's the only outcome available, hence my remarks about an arc for Falcon and his worthiness re: the serum.but then the flip side of having a nice guy be Cap and fail to live up to Steve, *especially* if he's black, is that then it comes across as some bigoted race superiority thing. Best not to deal with any of that for obvious reasons and just let the beloved character be the character that he was originally created to be.
This is an interesting story, no doubt about it ... but I guess I'm biased against 'redemption' arcs in general because of Child Murdering Anakin.Totally! And think how awesome it could have been to have Bucky take the shield, do all these amazing public things, and then some villain outs him as being this mind-controlled assassin. Then having to overcome a fall from grace that wasn't his fault while also facing whatever surface threat needed to be dealt with could have lead to such awesome stories.
Maybe. That's one aspect that adds pathos to the character, if you wanted to go that route.Even if he was talking about Bucky, yes the guy was an assassin who was brainwashed.
But is he going to live his whole life not being trusted!
Note how I went out of my way to say “some people.” If you assume that applies to you, it seems that my statements aren’t the issue and that, perhaps, a mirror is the appropriate place to direct your ire.Such a sweeping and blatant mischaracterization of people's preferences is a huge reason you guys got spanked on election day so by all means keep it up!![]()
Hey man just keep doubling down. It's such a good tactic.Note how I went out of my way to say “some people.” If you assume that applies to you, it seems that my statements aren’t the issue and that, perhaps, a mirror is the appropriate place to direct your ire.

Wor-Gar found out the hard way that in California they put out fires differently….Wor-Gar on a completely unrelated note...you're in the Los Angeles area right? How were you impacted by the fires?
I just finished watching the movie. It leaked online. Here's a link...
It was everything I thought it would be.![]()
Sounds like anti current administration propaganda to me.

Such a tragedy. My heart goes out to all affected, I hope those you mentioned above have the quickest recovery possible (whatever that means.) Glad to hear that you personally weren't directly hit by the fires.Personally, I was unscathed, but I watched the fires burn the Palisades and portions of Brentwood for several days from my balcony and roof top.
A very good friend from high school days lost everything... another best friend of my wife's also lost her home. Both families got out unscathed, but are now in the twilight of despair and going through the process of insurance hell and governmental bureaucracy while they try to rebuy all their basic needs: towels, sheets, beds, sofas, tvs, kitchenware, clothes to wear, etc. I know of a lot more who also are homeless today. Many others are in various stages of seemingly constant evacuation (now for mudslides).
It's a horrible mess that has effected everyone here. Everyone knows someone that was displaced by the Palisades or Eaton fires. Rebuilding will take a decade at least; infrastructure is gone and they city will require new zoning laws so this doesn't happen again. I know most people are thinking about rebuilding but I believe it is too daunting; most people were underinsured and the cost to rebuild will be too great. Many people will move elsewhere and get on with their lives. Developers will gobble up the Palisades. They were sniffing around at all the soon-to-be-available properties literally during the fires.
I'm not sure we've ever had a decimated area in Los Angeles like this before -- not even in the '94 quake -- but the Eaton and Palisades dead zones are massive.
2. Ford was so miserable during motion capture that he was angry all the time, it took triple the effort to keep him comfortable.
