They both tried to make the best films they could, and again, *it doesn't matter what they tried to make,* only what they *did* make. Being lucky is sometimes better than being good (Spielberg was obviously both, Wiseau was only the former.) No one cares about any filmmaker's intentions when they're watching a movie, only whether or not they're being entertained.

We're not talking about just being entertained though? That's why I made the "best" and "favorites" lists :lol The Room can be a personal favorite like Commando for many reasons, but I wouldn't put it on a list of best films of the decade.

In fact, a few weeks ago I posted a list of the 100 best films of the 21 century (so far) by the BBC (get your mind outta the gutter :lol), and I was teasing you about the Cap films not being on the list because TDK was the only comic book film on that list. And you said that although the CA films are some of your favorite films, you wouldn't put them on that list of best films of the 21th century either.

Replace "entertained" with "whatever you want movies to be." It still comes down to personal preference.

Well yeah because there are some films that I like more than I respect and others that I respect more than I like. But my criteria for respecting films is still going to be different than yours. And me respecting any film above another doesn't make it better, only better to me. Sure we can have two different lists, but both lists still come down to preference, and my "10 Best" list would be very different than yours.

Didn't you say you think that Spider-Man 2, The Avengers, and Superman: The Movie are in the top 5 "greatest" superhero films of all time? See I totally disagree. There goes your objective quality right there.

Of course...that why I called it "My top 5 favorites and best" list. It's not like my best films list is somehow "official" or something :lol However, my reasoning for picking those films goes beyond personal enjoyment or personal connection to the films, that's all. I can take certain factors into consideration when picking the best comic book films of all time, like Superman: The Movie pretty much creating the blueprint for all other comic book films.

Then why carry on all this time as if there was some sort of objective criteria for making such a list? Your list is your list based on your own personal measurements of quality. That's been my point all along.

I don't know...you started or something. :lol I don't think I ever said my list was based on some "holy rule." I always said that my best list was objective in the sense that it goes beyond personal enjoyment, hence the "best" and "favorite" lists. At least that what Ii was trying to explain to Jye.

If I wasn't objective, I'd pick Spiderman over Superman, but Superman pretty much influenced Spiderman 1 and 2, so I put it in my top 5 best list.

Well, okay, moving on then. :lol

I actually think it's pretty hard coming up with the Top 1 or 2 "Best" superhero films because in my opinion the genre just hasn't had that standout transcendent movie yet. No FOTR or ESB or anything on that level. I'm sure some people will claim that TDK achieved such status but I don't think so. Closest for me would be the two Russo Bros Cap films but even TWS is just a step behind FOTR, ESB, and Raiders.

Maybe that will change after a view more viewings of Civil War. There were just so damn many moving parts and the Russos handled all of them so freaking well.

I saw TWS yesterday on tv, and it's good, but I think CW is superior because of the villain, the action, all the characters in it, and because it's as colorful and comicbooky as The Avengers, while retaining some of the more "grown up" qualities of TWS. That's why it was my #2 in the best list :D

Yeah, good points. I keep going back and forth. I think TWS is leaner with less "fat" and has a more memorable score but Civil War does have a better main villain, better action all around (whether it be Crossbones heist, full color airport melee, or personal brawl at the end) and it weaves everything together so nicely. But then I think that Marvin Gaye montage at the end of TWS, so good. :lol

I absolutely love the music in TWS and it also has my favorite end credits of all the MCU movies.

But holy crap Spiderman is in the MCU gives CW the edge especially since it elevated the action from TWS and had a better villain than Pierce even if WS was also the villain in TWS.

ie give me my bluray.

Cap will do to Thanos what WB did to Snyder post BvS.

Why not, Superman is dead anyways. :lol

Hopefully he scraps that dumb looking Cyborg guy and brings in Antman to the team and change his name to Mini Robin.
