When we can get digital/streaming media without zero loss of quality due to compression, and when they invent inexpensive 1 million infinibyte memory servers so I can access my movies when the internet goes out, I may be able to let go of a physical collection. But until then, nah.

Continuing to collect physical movies on home video

:lol:lol:lol

Yep, and I will for as long as I can. Screw digital copies dependant on an Internet connection. All it is, is a way for studios to get the same amount of money out of you while actually providing you with nothing, but the right to view something digitally.......resulting in a bigger profit. Digital copies are cool if you're traveling or something, but at home I'll stick with my superior physical copy.

At least streaming picture quality is finally getting pretty close to discs. Case in point:

>these plebs stream and DRM
:rotfl

I store my collection on external hard drives. :dunno
There's absolutely nothing superior about "physical copies" these days.

Recently picked up the Winter Soldier blu ray after just watching the digital version since seeing it in the theater. I swear there a couple of things I noticed on blu ray that I hadn't since the theater but I might be crazy ... I'll have to watch the scenes in digital again. One of them was the movements of Bucky's metal arm when Cap was trying to pin him down as they fought on the helicarrier.

Just so you know, Vudu (Ultraviolet) has a download option as well. I never buy just Digital Copies, I must have the physical Disc as well, I just like having every possible viewing option. That's why I'm hoping 4K +3D + Blu + DVD + HD Digital becomes more common, though I don't actually care about the DVD option. That must suck when you buy a combo pack and all you can use is the DVD.

To all those who never use the HD Digital option, I will gladly take them off your hands. I won't BUY Digital HD by itself, but I'd certainly take it for free. :lol

Yeah I know. I have a vudu account and several digital movies in my account. I use them at work sometimes or when traveling. They are great for that. I have nothing against them being a freebie when I buy my physical copy. I'm just not going to go digital only and if studios FORCE me to then my days of buying movies will pretty much be over. I'm not going to pay 20 plus dollars for the right to stream a movie or download it and need TONS of storage memory. Physical or bust for me and digital copy is the free bonus.
