I was wondering how they could have Stark play the same role in Civil War that he played in the comic, considering how different RDJ Stark is, being so anti-establishment. Looks like he answers that question pretty simply there.

From what I can tell, CW won't be about secret identities, but some version of the registration act will still be the dividing point between Steve and Tony. This movie feels like a natural extension of the AoU fallout, and an event at the start of CW (different from the comic) will be the last straw that triggers the registration act.
sounds like the SMART one is Captain America, while Stark does what he's told
Well that's how they fell in the comics.Pretty much what I was thinking. Cap stands for individual rights and privacy and Stark stands for "where are your papers" and "if you have nothing to hide".

I figured, but I stopped reading comics 20 years ago. Got tired of all the cross overs just trying to get you to buy 10 different titles every month just to keep up with the story of 1 or 2 characters.
In the comics, Civil War was a pretty obvious reference to the Patriot Act and other post-9/11 actions by the U.S. government.
That's what I love about events though...but I do love most of the characters Marvel has to offer so I don't mind the tie ins. Id say I do love pretty much every character besides like...Wonder Man. Don't care for him at all.
Civil War was a tie in fest

Please, Marvel/Disney, whatever you do, refrain from the blue "Team Cap" and red "Team Tony" T-shirts.
If any of you decide to make these unlicensed T-shirts, I expect a cut.![]()
Everyone and their moms is going to make some version of those team shirts... that plus some 'Keep Calm, I'm with Tony' nonsense shirt.
I seriously hope we see Crossbones in full form in this film. Him and Baron Zemo would make me so damn happy.
