I like it. It's kind of a merge between the Ultimates WWII costume and modern costume. It looks pretty cool to me.

That makes sense. Still, I think his name and his outfit is more than enough of a symbol of that. Liberty, freedom, what have you.

I would at least like to see the wings for WWII Cap since symbolism was so prominent on both sides. I'm ok with modern Cap not having them.

I thought The movie was going to be a period piece, where most of the movie occurs in the past. I would have liked the Ultimates WW2 version, too. It fits perfectly with the regular troop's uniform.

The shoulder pads design doesn't make sense to me. If the shoulder pads are molded material, how can you lift your arms to the side or raised high without it hindering movement. And the reason for the red on his uniform is to use it as a strap for the shoulder pads? Ridiculous. I think the designer is thinking too much of rationalizing the design elements of Cap's uniform.

Get rid of the "A"?!? Why not get rid of the star, or the red and white on his torso and call him Captain Rogers?

If people don't think the basic design of Caps' uniform then they really should stop reading Captain America. His uniform identifies him as Captain America. Even now with the new Captain America "Bucky" established for more than a year now, and I do read Captain America and like the Bucky version, I still know he's not really Captain America. I just "tolerate" this plot as a fresh of breath air.

Great picture! I think the armor looks near perfect for a modern representation and I really like the armor plating look. The only thing that I think could be improved would be his helmet should be more noticable; not sure if I would want the wings or not...hmmm...

Well, last time I checked (and mind you, this was just a couple of days ago), there are stars on the flag...

And really, if you remove the star on his chest, you have to take it off of the shield too, which would make the shield kinda lame.

Well taking the wings off would be lame for me. The wings still look nice to me even though his costume is already red,white, and blue with stars and stripes. And who ever said that Cap's design can only be based on the American flag?

I didn't create that image, guys! It's awesome and whoever actually made deserves the kudos, but I can't find the name of the person who did it. It was floating on an image board and then on io9. But......

I went ahead and added Thor to it though. However I can't get you a larger size because I had to work off of the original image. My Photoshop abilities are limited

Hopefully the acting, plot and directing are good, they can get everything right with the costume, but that's what it boils down to for me.

Why not add War machine and Black Widow to this and that'll help make it bigger. Nice to see the avengers taking shape.

The more I look at it the more I'm convinced it's the modern version we're looking at. They probably figure the modern look will sell the movie better. Don't the tops of the shoulder pads look like kevlar?

The first Iron Man movie didn't really push the Marks I and II in the advertising--just mostly on the website. Maybe they're just laying the older costume and shield low for now. And I would think the old shield will be his first shield. It'll probably get wrecked in his first battle and they'll develop the round one for him after that but still in the 40s.
