It's mine as well. Love the WW2 setting and think the origin is very well told.

It still surprises me that neither Natasha nor Clint recognized The Red Skull on Vormir. Pretty sure they would've heard of him at some point while at Shield. Would've been the prefect opportunity to have them tell Cap and leave the door open for him and Red Skull to return in a later, present times movie if Marvel decided to bring Evans back.

Yeah I was wondering if anyone else had heard of Red Skull, especially since he was a prominent adversary for WWII. I wonder what'll happen to him after EG (and if HG will reprise the role, even if he didn't for EG).

I'm finding that AoU Cap seems to be the one of the more affordable older figures. If I manage to get the body how I want them on one of the of the other Caps I have, I may pic up that one to mod as well. It's a great looking figure and the and the shield looks to be more fun to use with the magnet feature.

Yep, while CW still goes for high, ah! I was tempted to get the Stealth Strike, but I feel the overall proportions wouldn't do it for me. Plus I'd love to see a 2.0, even if branded as EG. The TFA neeeeeeds a 2.0 in my strong opinion. But yeah AoU Cap is great, I quite like it and the magnetic shield is super easy to work with. It's also from a time when HT made Caps with cloth suits, and if they were to make it today, I reckon they'd use the now typical vinyl-y super suits.

Today a number of people woke up to likes and lol reactions to posts they made over a decade ago :lol

Agreed on this film, it's a good one. Cap really got a fine trilogy.
Cap got the best trilogy in the MCU - love this movie, and all three movies were great.

:lol :lol

I apologize for thread necromancy :rotfl

The two halves of this movie used to jar me a bit. Sort of like Stripes where the first half is awesome and the second half is terrible. I love the story of how Steve transforms from the 90 lbs weakling stereotype to super soldier. But everything after that transition felt a bit slow and unsatisfying to me overall. Except the ending which has a lot of heart.

Nevertheless about a year ago somehow I found myself giving it a rewatch and I found that I didn’t mind the second half nearly as much. The half set in Germany still has a flavor (stylistically) of CBMs from about ten years earlier at that point, a comic book tone that feels like early X-Men and Spider-Man. At least regarding Red Skull’s role. But on this rewatch I appreciated Hugo Weaving as Red Skull more. Also the Doctor Zola character and his role. Introduction of the Tesseract is decent. I don’t mind the overtly comic book-y elements as much now for some reason. My only real nitpick now is the movie just slows down in the middle when Steve is having to do his USO shtick versus actually superheroing. I get antsy during that stretch, lol.
