The feminist thing doesn’t bother me it’s just that some of these celebrities mostly white women play this card to gain the favor of people of color to boost there thing they are promoting. They don’t really care about social issues or never done anything to ever help people

Um Brie was trying to get people to donate money so they could buy little girls movie tickets to go see Captain Marvel....

Of course that money would go back to Disney.....

And then go in her pocket as payment for a sequel..


Whatever! She Cares!!!!

It's heading there. I am in a multimedia program and half of the students in my class are female. And when it comes to the creative communications students, the majority are female in my school.

Well that is note surprising..

Nowadays more woman finish High school and more woman go to college.

They don’t really care about social issues or never done anything to ever help people but as soon as something big that they are starring in happens they say how they hate white men and blah blah to gain acceptance from people of color causing a divide and making it seem like we hate white people and want to kill them. She seems fake and just trying to boost herself. Not once did she mention the first captain marvel who is a black woman. She is basically thrown to the side as like some little kid that looks up to carol. Wow. Talk about disrespectful. If she really was so progressive as she says she is she would of gave up the role to a black Woman seeing as how captain marvel is black before .

I for one don’t care about feminism but when one does it to push a movie but they haven’t done **** beforehand to help others it’s stupid.

She as passionate about this as she says. Then donate all the money this movie made to women shelters like black panther did. No? Ok then

^Yeah, instead she started a charity for regular Joe Schmoes to buy tickets to her own movie only, further lining Disney's pockets

And then contributed nothing to it herself

So much for empowering women or helping out girls in dire straits. All talk, no action. She could really apply some of Gandhi's 'be the change you want to see'

Sorry for getting riled up earlier. Had a rough day and I was tired and went in not reading the recent news. Like the person who only reads the headline and then loses their **** before reading the article. And I am usually that guy... reads the article first. I let my history of this discussion speak for me instead of reading up to what words were used. I can definitely see how anyone would find the white dudes comment offensive. Again, doesn't bug me much, because I am not the biggest fan of the actress and imo it's one person who said something not agreeable. But let's face it, who here hasn't said something outrageous or questionable? So let's not forget, we all have our moments. But I love women and I am all for women and equal opportunity and working to see a world we're everyone is treated the same. I guess that's where I stand, but still there is a time and place for politics and words have value. What we say can be used against us. After all, I am known as STFU Eli in these parts.

I saw that, she started a GoFundMe so little girls can see her movie. I mean, it's a nice thought but does look bad. lol Yay free movie but looks bad. Yeah that's too bad for people who really like her character in the comics (though with 7 titles relaunched and then immediately cancelled due to low sales in the past six years that apparently only includes you and like six other people, lol.) For better or worse she'll always be the Chris Reeve/Michael Keaton/Gal Gadot/RDJ of the character, at least with regard to the big screen.

People mostly like the character they just don't buy Marvel comics.

I saw your post above, and I have to say I appreciate that someone who was riled up just mere pages ago has actually now looked into the inciting words and is able to understand where the other side is coming from, even if they don't fully agree. Good on you for that man. It's always nice to see people having a civil discussion instead of insulting each other.

Yeah and don't get me wrong.. I have watched a troll video or two that have been a bit too much IMO..

I am passionate... I sometimes go in all guns a firing before getting the full context of the information... then when I do, I go, I overstepped myself. I went based on the feminist angle she portrays and not the stupid I am sick of talking to white dudes comment. That being said, she's still a great actress and I'll probably still enjoy the film. I can separate idiots from the product. Like Patrick Kane. Love watching the guy play hockey, but as a human being he makes some ****** life choices... like beating up a cab driver over 20 dollars despite making $13 million US per season. Yeah, that happened. Good hockey player. Not-so-good human. Or just a very flawed human who needs some growing up...

I can be smart, when I am going on the response vs react... my dog ate one of my action figures 20 minutes earlier... so yeah... I went on the react. lol Okay, one of the figure's accessories. Went outside for 5 minutes! 5 MINUTES! Boom!

As toy collectors, you know how that can ruffle one's feathers. And of course it was an expensive figure as well. I was fixing something on it. Just futzing with it. Had to go outside for something and came back with my figure and its stuff sprawled on the floor. So that may have had something to do with my guns-a-blazing approach.

But it goes back to being lectured by the Hollywood Elite who are truly privileged. They love to talk a big game but they have no idea what life is really like. Its easy to advocate for the Planet when those laws really wont effect you. But they will the average man and woman. Not saying we shouldn't do the things but it would help if Celebs practiced what they preached more.. Like Ed Begley Jr. Now that is commitment.

I think it's unfair to lump all of them as "elite". Many of them came from severe hardships (even going homeless) before they eventually broke out with fame. Not saying that Leo did this, but it's not uncommon for actors and actresses to go through this.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall a single instance in this film where Carol was ever called "Captain Marvel". I wonder if by Endgame, Monica is going to take the mantle (it is implied that she wants to).
