Reading the novel def makes me want the piece more, but I just can't pull the trigger on this one without seeing the final product. Them promising more Chrome doesn't really inspire me to put money down. I need to see this new chromed out version before I put money on the table.

I contacted Sideshow to see if they would be altering the paint job by adding more chrome to it. They said while the photos on Phasma's page are just a prototype, they don't have any plans to alter the paint job in any way...

This is my approach as well on this one. Between uncertainty of the final product and uncertainty of her role in TLJ, I'll sit tight on this. I hope that both her character and the final product turn out great, as it's got great potential.

That's been my approach with Sideshow for several years now.
They've been very inconsistent with their quality control for a very long time now.

The Sideshow Rogue PF had some copies with terrible paint app on the portrait. Googly eyes!

Their Dutch PF was when I drew the line. One of my favorite characters in the Predator franchise and they couldn't get it right. Orange peel skin and some copies had a crooked rifle barrel.

Bottom line is, I will no longer preorder anything from Sideshow.
I will wait to see what they are actually delivering to us collectors before I buy their products... and even when I do buy, there's no guarantee that I'll receive a copy that has good paint app.

oh for sure, but we were essentially told one thing (adding more chrome) and are now being told another (lol just kidding about dat chrome). It makes me sad...

If SS would use more exciting poses they might be able to sell more... As it is their stuff is a bit bland looking and in some cases awkward looking.... Especially when you look at what XM and Iron Studios have done with the Star Wars license...

With an edition size of 500 I went ahead and bit on it. If it remains unchanged and no additional chrome is added, it's still a good looking piece. If she's a bada$$ in TLJ, I'll be glad I have it on pre-order. If not, it's not the first statue I've enjoyed of a character with a less than impactful screen presence (I'm looking at you, Aurra Sing)...

Agreed but I can't see Sideshow messing this up and yes that sounds crazy. I'm waiting to see the price on the Alien Dog and I have a few other pieces I'm liking so I'll wait.

With this statue being at only 500 ES with no exclusive, I have a feeling that if she is even remotely interesting in the movie, this will sell out fast and triple in price over night.

Someone posted a chrome paint we can buy and do it ourselves. It was real chrome! Yes real chrome like the rims on a car. Even at 500 it’s still not moving. Hope they cancel all the regs and make the Es 500 total.
