I would think The Clone Wars animated series will eventually have to make the transition to tie together AOTC and ROTS. Maybe some time in the near future they will and we can get one...

We might and that would be cool with me. Though I should have said the current figure doesn't because of the chance we may see a Phase II later.

I am kidding, it would only make sense for him and AJOKEuh Tahno to die. I mean Anakin should lose all attachments, but that would require basic storytelling skills on the writers part.

According to Star Wars Wiki his fate has yet to be determined.

Yet we already know he either goes AWOL (which seems highly unlikely for Rex) or dies before ROTS. Since we didn't get him with the Phase 2 bucket, I'm guessing he dies before the transition. If LFL wants to milk it, he'll be too stubborn to change from the old tech and keep the Phase 1, but still die before ROTS.

He could take on the phase II towards the end of the CW series but still die or whatever. He probably kicks it before that but there is that chance I think.

;) I gotcha. I suppose Rex could either die or transition into the Empire like Commander Cody. But your right, the Ahsoka Tano story i don't see ending so well. It will be interesting to see how they approach that so it jives with Anakin having no attachment to her whatsoever in ROTS.

Well, there was that one episode about the deserter who help Rex recuperate. Just sayin' maybe he moves to Canada. :dunno

Not necessarily. Probably will and they're already starting to with Anakin in his ROTS costume now. I'm kinda hoping though they start going towards a non-canon alternate reality maybe where Anakin doesn't become Vader.

Is there no phase 2 version of Rex? It would be nice if they at least made a helmet to go with the 501st troopers.

I was thinking the same thing, but in the most recent episode of Clone Wars all of Cody's guys as well as Cody seem to be in Phase 1 while Rex is in Phase 1 and it looks like a bunch of his guys have Phase 2.

Here's a screencap, note the Phase 2 guy in the back.

Ah Yeah, that's awesome. I watch that show all the time and Ive never even noticed the phase 2 guys before. So i guess having the two different helmets makes sense. Though I would still like to see a phase 2 Rex just for the hell of it.

I too would be down for a non canon continuation of the animated series. There has already been some debate as to whether or not it should be considered canon anyway. I think partly due to the fact that if it continues to be as successful as it is the series could last waaay longer than the clone wars actually did, creating a time line that does not jive well with others.

If interested here is an article listing a few possibilities regarding Ahsoka Tano's fate. Calling the Whole series non-canon was one of the possibilities. Captain Rex's fate could be considered the same, that he simply never existed.

I think the show has already gone well past any sort of reasonable possibility that it takes place between AotC and RotS. For one, they've already made Ahsoka noticeably older.

I would have to disagree. I actually have no problem with this being part of the canon of SW. Then again I tend to be fairly open minded towards things with SW.

The Clone Wars series just is way too much ____ happening to be plausible to happen between the second and third films.
