Got the notice too. Tempted to take them on their offer. Ten bucks is $10. It would also lighting the load. I was wondering too how they knew I was poor.

My guess is also that they are trying to lock you in for an order. Once you flex-pay there is a cancellation fee.

Exactly....convert folks to flex pay and generate additional revenue if the customer cancels. On top of that SS can make it appear that they care about the customers by "graciously" making this offer.

Additionally, SS probably has some internal data that indicates customers are less likely to cancel their orders once they have made one to two flex payments. It's a win / win for SS, either you wind up making the purchase or you get charged a fee and receive nothing from them.

Lastly the beauty of flex payments is that SS gets you to make payments before you receive your product which means you are essentially granting SS an interest free loan. While you spend 2-3 months waiting for your product SS gets the benefit of using your cash to finance working capital needs or to invest and earn interest income...all with interest free funds.

Sorry folks....15+ years of being in the commercial/corporate banking world tends to make one a little cynical at times. :)

Wow, my girlfriend said the same thing but she's kind of stupid so I didn't believe her.:monkey3

Yes that's exactly why they do it, aside from the fact that it's easier to get people to make smaller payments and less likelihood of credit card decline. :goodpost:

I cant wait

I got the email as well. the fact that there is no edition size for the exclusive carnage has me worried. 1000 for the regular hopefully means it won't be too high.

as for the exclusive spidey, I will go for it. 650 is reasonable.

I'm pretty sure that Sideshow has the whole collection world wondering why they haven't released the Ex. ES information. Makes me think that the ES is going to really low at this point.

i think they plan on setting a higher edition size. probably why they're trying to get so many people on flexpay. especially since they know the colossus will stay in their warehouse till judgement day. :) gotta make up those loses somehow.

Nah I didn't read it as that, it's common sense and the nature of the biz. Good work :rock

Yeah those Colossus comiquettes are going to be the free item gifts at some point...:rotfl

Yeah if the ES for the Ex. is higher than Venom then I will just cut loose on a couple of my Reg. version.

I see your logic. If they do set a really high edition size, cancellations will happen immediately. So, they make a pre-emptive strike and move a bunch of people onto flexpay and reap a harvest of cancellation fees.

Just a simplistic observation, but Sideshow makes an extra $10 on their Carnage exclusive compared to the regular. If they move someone to flexpay, after 48 hours if there is a cancellation they make $20! So perhaps they've set it up so that they HOPE you do cancel (and presumably order the reg) because they'll make more money! Furthermore, if they hold off on announcing the EX ES until AFTER the second or third flex payment (which they're fully entitled to do since they could ship at the very end of the 4th quarter and the third flex is scheduled for Nov 15), that $20 increases to $40 or $60, respectively. Clever way of utilizing the cancellation trends! :lecture:lecture:lecture

It's going to be fun to look back at this post a few months from now and think "This guy had absolutely no idea what he was talking about..." :lol

if SS really wants me to commit, they better offer more than a $10 credit :monkey1 cause it looks like this may not be shipping until December?
