I bet scarface remake will be modern and not in the 70s. Scarface will have skinny jeans, big glasses, listen to house music and whatever the new teens are doing these days.

Can't say I'll even watch it at all. This is one of those remakes/reboots where I'm left kinda scratching my head.

I usually don't like remakes, but if they are going to do one, then they might as well do one that is more close to the novel. For starters, in the novel Carrie White was fat and covered in pimples.

The original needs no introduction - classic film.

Although Julianne Moore & Chloe Moretz are great.. I don't need to watch this - or have any interest in it. :lol

Is Moretz's goal to carve a niche for herself in horror movie remakes?

I hope she stars in the inevitable remake of The Shining, where she discovers the shinning powers with the aid of Jamie Foxx as Di.ck Holloran.

I wouldnt mind a jaws remake. The tech they have now can make the shark look very menacing. I mean really thats somthing i wouldnt mind a reboot of.

Nobody cares about that big, blue and red ******.

They went to see it for Megan Fox but, to their disappointment, came to the realization that she wasn't in it.

You'd think that.

But people want to see Jack Sparrow, Optimus Prime, Thor, Captain America, not any of the actors playing the parts.

Actors don't bring in sells. Characters do. Repeating characters to be more specific.

If any movie should be remade, it's Resident Evil :lecture

They should remake the older horror movies that could do with it.
Off the top of my head , Cujo , Pet cemetery , Tobe Hooper's Funhouse , as mentioned more recently resident Evil. There are a lot of older horror movies with great ideas that just weren't as good as they could have been, these to me seem more worthy of a remake but obviously a hugely successful older film with an existing fan base will always come first.

Regarding a shining remake I was watching an interview with Frank Darabont and Steven King together recently and Darabont was mentioning how he'd always wanted to direct the Shining himself and it's well known that Steven King doesn't like Kubrick's version.

I wouldn't want a remake but if it was to happen I'd like to see Darabont get his chance. He's handeled the rest of Kings work with great care and passion and his best movies , some of the best films ever , are made up from his novels.

Scarface is coming. Make no mistake about that.

*Whew* I'm glad it was Carrie that they decided to remake, and not one of DePalma's other classics, like Scarface, because we all know that remakes of remakes means the end as we know it for Hollywood. :lecture
