Is the brave Captain Mal Reynolds toying with the idea of becoming the Greatest American Hero? But in other, more pressing news, guess what Nathan Fillion's new character, Castle, dresses up as?

In an interview with IFC Fillion revealed his dreams to revive the old curly-headed superhero series, but with minor updates to the suit:

If I had a dream project right now, I'd like to grab a hold of a superhero. There are so many superheroes out there, I feel like there's none left. But there is one I think I could handle, and that's a redo of "The Greatest American Hero."

We think he'd be fantastic, but we'll do anything to keep Fillion in tight fitting attire. And According to Fillion both William Katt and Robert Culp are friends with then executive producers on Castle, so there's a chance.

But in other amazing fantasy news Castle TV net caught a glimpse of Castle's Halloween costume, and it is beautiful. Please let this be in the episode — we miss Mal!

It's cool to see him as Mal again. It also reminds me how much I hate Fox for canceling Firefly.

Just found my Firefly set a few days ago and re-watched the pilot. As good as I remember it being. Really a great show.

Speaking of Hammer, I wouldn't mind seeing Filion as Sledge Hammer.

Ok, you enter the portal by going to China first. There's a little spot by a tree somewhere in a field near a park. Then you go through this universe that has only chickens, try not to stay there, it's crazy!

Then through another portal, it's the only other portal there and it's very close to the first one you came through, you will have no trouble locating it. That will leave you near a big rock in the last universe before getting to mine. There's a bunch of socks in that universe. They just dance around all the time. There's many different colors and styles. I don't think you should try to take any of them, they bite.

Go through this really long stretch of socks on a blue water path. The water isn't very high, promise. You'll see a very nice round fire like opening about 8 miles in from the portal you came through. Then, enter, and you've hit, Firefly universe.

I'm waiting with some white cheddar popcorn, chips and queso, and booze. Yes, we have those things here too.

In the previews for next week's Castle they showed him in the Mal outfit a lot - seems he'll spend some time in it rather than just be a cameo.

My wife and I have really been enjoying the show. Any words on how the ratings have been so far this season??

I guess the ratings were good enough to bring it back for a 2nd season, but I don't know how well it's doing now. I like the show, and I second the feeling of loss I have when watching it, wishing Firefly was still around. BuffyGirl, I may try to find your world and catch up on the seasons of Firefly that I've missed so far.

But I don't dance, so I think I'll give the socks a miss.
