That's a hell of a long way to go to volunteer even a small amount of your time at the convention. No way in hell I would do that after paying what, like $1500 probably for a round trip ticket...

BTW - I planted the idea again yesterday. We'll see what happens. :panic:

The tots are back ! The Tots are back !

I would not mind one ... They are neat.

Crap, now I'll probably have to try and get the Jabba-related ones. Amanaman! Yak Face! Etc! :panic:

I think they have to cast a wide net to get enough volunteers who actually show up so they have coverage...

You deadbeats! :lol

I don't regret missing that one bit. Hell, I stood in the autograph lines long enough to know that wouldn't have been a fun gig. :lol

Guess it depends. If you were lucky enough to get "stuck" with one of the celebrities who are nice and you admire, it might actually be worth it. But that's a huge gamble.

I don't see myself ever doing that ... mytime with my buds is more important to me.

You were at CVI? :lol ;)

Oh that's right you were with Rick the whole time.

Come to think of it I never saw him either.... Hmmmmmmmm :dunno

JJJ is going to spend more time with us next time. *waves hand*

My brother ... You have need of mind tricks on this apprentice ! I have made it known I am staying in the hotel with my buds and we are hanging as much as we can ! Even my kid knows this !

Now everyone can join me!!!

I volunteered for OPix at CIV and CV. It was totally worth it both times. I had Anthony Daniels at CV. But at CVI, they changed the rules, so you don't get to wear your Volunteer badge outside of your shift (which could be used to get in early without having to wait in line). That was the biggest bonus for us. I didn't use it to get exclusives early. I just didn't want to wait in a big a$$ line each day...

So at CVI, I volunteered for the Collecting Track, which was AWESOME! I hope they select me again, but I haven't heard back from them yet. However, if I don't get chosen by them, I won't volunteer at CEII. I'll just enjoy the convention...

I really hope some of you guys are suddenly able to go. I'm sure I'll find people to hang with, but I've come to know so many of you on the boards, it would be nice to hang in person.

$3218 for two was the cheapest I found! :horror

Where is the discount? :lol

And what the blazes is the international surcharge for $516 per passenger?

This may not be happening... :(

International flights have really gone up in price in the last few years. Used to be that we could get to Japan for around $600. Now the best deal we could find was around double that, mostly due to the "fuel surcharges" that they now apply.
