Mark wasn't that chatty. Unless you said something that really sparked his interest. The guy in front of me had to take the time to unroll a poster so Mark gave him a nice chat. I got a short but decent greeting and appreciative exchange and was on my way. Mostly to be courteous to others in the line. I can't stand the folks to keep them with chatter. It's selfish and not a Q&A session. If you want to engage them in conversation, do it while they sign and when they are done, thank them and go.

The volunteers did a decent job of keeping things moving though.

Pretty much this. Mark knows he's popular, and they do want to keep the line moving so everyone can get their autograph.

I did have a brief exchange with Mark Hamil at Celebration 5 when I had a couple items to be signed. I was wearing my Vader outfit at the time:

Me: Do you know what it's like to have to pay to see your own son?

Mark: (Looks up, does a double take) Well, it's not easy having a dad like you! Impressive costume! (to my wife) Is he really that tall?

Stormy - any closer pics of the shirt?

JJJ - Not necessarily an exclusive, but I'm not sure how long it will last at the stores.
All the Hallmark managers I talked to on Saturday said that Vader is in high demand already (they're all taking pre-orders for October ornaments).
I wouldn't mind them over-producing this one so I can pick up an extra at 75% off after Christmas.

So it is an october release ?

OMG, that would kill me. :panic:
I'm ok with a quick 30 second chat, but let's be real...these celebs probably won't remember us unless we have some tig ole bitties. :lol

Depends on the star. Daniel Logan remembers me as I have seen him three times. First day of the Con I saw him and he was walking and stopped to chat.

Hmmm, so Hamill really is there to do nothing more than sign? I totally get the need to keep the line moving but he tends to not even glance up and make eye contact?

I did hand him three things to sign, AND he was in a rush, he needed to head out to the main event of something like that.

Oh he does look at you and greets you well. Super friendly and pleasant. But they are asked before hand to be brief and everyone is asked by the volunteers before entering tent to be brief. They are after all only there to sign your item. Nothing really more than that. It is done to be fair to all in line to keep it moving. Not to mention they take breaks for like 15 to 30 minutes some times and the line just waits there. People are there to do more than to just wait in line.

I know what Carrie is like sometimes as she chatted with me for a bit when I first got her signature. I didn't intend to and did not want to be rude so I engaged her in conversation. It really depends on the signer.

I wonder what McDiarmid is like? I know everyone will try and chat with him being that he's such a rare signer. I just hope he is pleasant and not a ******. I don't hope he treats anyone like they are beneath him but I hope he isn't chatty for the sake of the line moving. I don't believe he will be though.

Not sure I am connected at all :(

Don't feel bad. Although my hotel is connected, its to the North building which is still across the street from the West Building (where the convention is) and a good 15 minute walk outside over the walkways to get there.

Last Celebration was in the North building, and the walk way was a 5 minute walk from the Hilton to the convention center. The Rosen at that time did not have a connecting breeze way. It was built in Jan 2011. So with the move to the West Building the Rosen would be the closest hotel.
