Happy to share everyone. I have been
beyond lucky in my life to enjoy many special Star Wars moments. The past few years have been over the moon amazing for me. This summer, my wife and I took the kids to see Star Wars in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl (our second time seeing it). At the event, as the Star Wars main title music played, I turned to my lovely wife and told her that I may be the luckiest Star Wars fan in the world. Declarative statement of fact.
Here's a sampling of what I've been lucky enough to do just since 2009:
- Saw Star Wars In Concert twice (Hollywood Bowl and Nokia Theater)
- Saw John Williams in concert at the Hollywood Bowl
- Took my daughter to the special "Savage Oppress" Clone Wars screening at Egyptian Theater in Hollywood
- Met with Harrison Ford and attended the special ESB event at the Arclight Cinema in Hollywood
- Met George Lucas and attended the Directors Guild of America's special Star Wars retrospective (non-public event)
- Attended the opening of Legoland's Star Wars Miniland in Carlsbad, CA
- Got to see Lucas, Fisher and Hammil in the "main event" at CV (where I got to meet and hang out with all you Freaks!)
- Visited Lucasilm/ILM
- Gone to three more SDCC's and Freaks parties!
I honestly think I may have been the only person in the world to have attended all those events/done all those things. Working for ACME and running GalacticBinder has had its perks, but I'm still not sure how I've been so lucky and received such extraordinary privileges. If I ever complain about anything on these boards... shoot me!
And despite all the cool stuff, my favorite memory of all was being with my daughter at the Clone Wars screening. I'll never forget seeing the look on her face as she sat in a theater and saw some "Star Wars" on the big screen for the first time. Priceless!
I can't wait to add CVI to the above list. I know it sounds corny, but I cherish all the memories I've made at Star Wars Celebrations.
I've met so many awesome people and made some really good friends, of which I count all you Freaks! To me... that's what Star Wars is all about.
