( Says the man with predator in his sig and avatar ). :lol

Oh, so santa isn't real too?

For God's sake dudes, these are just fantasy, sci fi. Man, predanerds?

They haven't updated their sites since 2008, and here we are still talkin bout it and its 2009. Predanerds, seriously?

Its like the pot calling the kettle black, homie..

there not mammals or humanoids , there men in rubber suits. :lol

No matter what line you're buying from, if you drop $100+ on a toy, you're just as much a nerd as anyone else.

As for the stuff you read on sites, a lot of that wasn't made up by fanboys or nerds, it was made up in by authors in novels and comics.

Any case though, I hope you guys don't suck the fun out of everything you like, geez.

I agree. Let's discuss more bout preds:D

Google the word yautja and predator fan site. Theres alot of these things.

Predanerds , yeah. Who has the time to make up languages for the predator ?
I understand loving the movies but making all this crap up for other people to read then go around thinking they can talk to predators ( which arn't real  ) .

WTF ? . It just doesn't make sense to me.

Which is why I refuse to use the word, "Yauja".

If you were to follow the comics and literature for Aliens, Hicks would be alive and Newt would be having a relationship with Bishop (I think that was it). And then Alien 3 would have arrived about 2 yrs later and fuct that writer's ideas up.

...Steve Perry, the guy who novelized the AVP comic books. Not a "Predanerd", but an actual author.

Perhaps you should stop being a movie snob and pick up a book. As a hardcore Predator fan, and I mean of the franchise, and not just the movies - I'll take what I can get and appreciate it for what it's worth. It's all a fictional world, which is meant to be some kind of entertainment for the watcher(movies) or the reader(books).

Last time I checked, you've blown a lot of money on collectibles, just because you're apparently 'above Predanerds' doesn't mean you are not in a class of nerdom yourself.

Yea I don't blame you. Gort Pred was what got me really interested in the out of the box designs for Predator Masks/Bios. Gort is my reason why Celtic is my current favorite Predator Bio.

He's a hardcore Predanerd. He thinks the aliens are like German Shepards. DOES THE MAN NOT WATCH THE FILMS HE BASES HIS BOOKS ON!???

You've spent too much time on AVPGalaxy.

If he's a "Predanerd" - you're in every right the exact same thing. You've got way to many opinions on what 'is' and 'isn't' right in both franchises.

The only difference is, he's a successful author, you aren't.

Just cos he's a successful author doesnt give him automatic claim over the Predator universe though does it? Point being he's not Jim or John Thomas - the creators of the original idea. He just happens to be a fan like any of us, why should we take what he says as gospel just cos he's a successful author too? If another (and more successful) author came along and wrote something completely different who do we follow then? The author who did it first or the author who is more successful?

Any of us can think up of origin ideas, you dont have to have writing skills for just that.

No, it doesn't give him claim over anything. I was simply making the point that he contributed to the universe, rather than sitting around whining about it. He was hired to write a book, and then another - which went on to sell a ton of copies, and his idea caught on enough for people to accept - even to the point of some products (that have nothing to do with the books) saying that "Yautja" is their races name. --- Also take into consideration, he was novelizing COMIC BOOKS that rely on people to interpret somethings through pictures - he had to add more depth, description, and background into the story... unless you think a thirty page book can be a novel and have thousands of holes in the story? Please, go find the first series of Predator comics, read them, and then read Concrete Jungle, same story, but Nathan Archer had to add more to make it a book.

As far as another writer contradicting everything he established, and others writers went along with, see, John Shirley's "Forever Midnight" - which was largely bashed to Hell by Predator fans.

...great ideas are wonderful, the skill to convey them well on paper though, if you're going to be any kind of writer, are sorta needed. - And for the record, I have read MANY fan stories, and a ton of them are utter garbage, with only a handful being good.

It's funny how there are two kinds of Predator fans, the ones who yearn for more material - and the people who are utterly snotty about anything but the 'precious' original. In the end, it's all make believe, don't take it so ^^^^ing seriously.
