Has anyone made a 1/6 scale figure based on the Joker from the
1960's Batman TV show? he was played by Cesar Romero. Wondering
where I might be able to find the usual suit he wore.

I love their sculpt of him... they never sold that one did they?

And I too would love to have a Romero Joker... not to mention a West Batman to keep him company :rock If I could get those two my 1/6 Batman needs would be mostly satisfied.

I think Joy and Tom studios have to be the finest custom sculptors working today.

I recognize their work from the old Andgor site -- in fact I bought the penguin and joker sculpts from Andgor many years ago, though never received them (which won't surprise the oldtimers in this hobby). Andgor aside, I do hope J&T start making their work more publicly available, it's really amazing.

EDIT: weird, I just looked up Andgor's site out of curiosity, it looks like it's been taken over by HeroBuilders.

I think Hero Builders bought the domain name after Andgor let it drop. With the negative vibe attached to Andgor that has to be a business decision that makes "New Coke" look like a good strategy. Plus Hero Builders work falls short of the quality Andgor was putting out (when it got shipped). I've tried to convince the Snyders to offer some heads for sale, but it seems like they are too busy to do it at this point in time. The prototype Star Trek heads they did for Scifimetropolis are being offered in small quantities, but they are slow coming out.

interesting ... thanks for the info, yruh8n.

Even if they're busy it's a shame J&T can't partner up with somebody (more reliable than the old Andgor) to get more of their work out to what I am sure would be a very eager fan base.

do you think they will offer a short run of these sculpts if we got together and ask them for a bulk order?

id take a stab in the dark and say that the "someone famous" maybe be some guys involved with robot chicken, as i think these guys made some of the headsculpts for their figures in the show.

(can't get the image to show up)

This is a different sculpt then the one originally offered by Andgor. This head was commissioned by "someone famous". They never would tell me who it was. Also none of the Batman heads are for sale. I know because I have tried to purchase them.

Here is what they told me about these heads to the best of my memory.

Batman and Robin were one of a kinds commissioned for an article in Toyfare Magazine. The unmasked versions were done first to make sure the likeness was accurate before sculpting the mask.

Catwoman was also a one of a kind for Toyfare, but a different article then Batman and Robin.

Penquin and a different Joker were done for Andgor.

The Joker on their web site was a private commission for "someone famous". That's all they would say.

Riddler and Batgirl were private commissions for a producer in feature animation.

They keep a copy of all the heads they do for their own collection, but seldom offer copies. They were working on Egghead and King Tut for their collection. Last time I ask they hadn't had time to finish them

Plastic Earth has provided hundreds of custom heads for Robot Chicken. Joy and Tom Studios has probably done around four hundred of those. There are lots of heads I saw at their studio that aren't on the web site.

They have done a few things with Plastic Earth while Robot Chicken was on hiatus. They offered the customs on ebay, but they were usually complete figures with custom boxes as opposed to just the heads. Last time I ask they had something brewing with Plastic Earth, but I wasn't told what it was. People here would lose their freakin' minds if they could see what they have in their shop.
