After seeing the fantastic Admiral Ackbar custom by Collecsionismosw, it got me thinking about mine.

I have the GG Admiral Ackbar bust already taken apart and ready to go. I just need to get his tunic/smock sorted out. I figure I could use the Hasbro undersuit and boots. I have extra belt boxes and his rank badge, so that will be easy. The tough part is going to be designing the tunic.

I started messing around with lots of trial and error. I plan to make the upper tunic in 2-3 pieces, basically a front, upper back, lower back. There will be a second piece that fits below the upper piece. I am going to place wire around the neck of the bust, cut a pattern out of leather and try to figure out a way to make it look right. I really have no idea how I am going to pull this off.

Here is a very early pattern. I am going to have to fit the head on the body before I can properly size the pattern. I want the head to sit at the proper angle. I am still brainstorming. :)

is that my jedi luke robe I sent laying on the counter there. looking good chris I guess it`s time to show my ackbar that I have had for at least 4 years or so

I kinda think Ackbar is one if those characters that is right on the deciding line for Sideshow. He's not a major character, but he is an iconic character. Plus, with the recent focus on the OT, he would make sense. Still, I doubt they will, simply because there are higher priority characters.

well if he was not a major character I guess kenner /Hasbro would not have made him back in 83. and Hasbro redoing him through out there tenure of there licensing through now

Good point. Kenner/Hasbro really only made figures of major characters like Prune Face. ;-)

You guys always mention you like seeing whats going on in the background of my pics, well here is a shot of what my workspace looks like as of 5 minutes ago. :)

Lots of unfinished stuff. I did place a order from TA for some parts and I ordered some more TT knockoffs from ebay. Hopefully start knocking some of this stuff out in the upcoming weeks. :)

You and I are in the same boat Chris. Start 10 figures finish none lol :) Just kidding. When you work on 10 different characters they seem to take forever to finish. :slap

LOL I think thats a lot of us. I just made a workbench for my self last week. It's great to have a place to work and not be interrupted, only downside is its in the laundry room. My wife thinks the table is for her to fold clothes, is nothing sacred theses days.

Yeah, I like to work on several things at once. It keeps things new and fresh.

I also don't know when an idea is going to hit me on a particular custom. I could be working on Lando then all of the sudden get an idea on how to fix a problem with Nysad. I'm also usually waiting on parts or don't have much free time. So when I do have time, I just work on what is available or what I can finish in that given time.

No rhyme or reason really to what I work on, it's a hobby. :)

I know what you mean. It's hard to work on just one because new ideas pop up all the time.

This guy showed up today and he brought gifts....

I have been wanting to add Salacious Crumb to my display for quite sometime. He, along with R2, will really add to my Jabba setup.

I am going to use these Bossk heads to upgrade my Saurins Garon Nas Tal and Hrchek Kal Fas...

Question Chris. Not really relating to anything about those guys in particular, but on the gloves of the guy on the right, where'd you get or how'd you fashion the little device on there? Looks very similar to what needs to be on my Snowtrooper Commander.
