These Marmit kits I got are in rough shape. I wasn't happy with the weathering job on them, so I decided to give them a bath. They also smelled like they had been stored in a wet basement. So, I am using dishsoap and a fingernail polish remover mix to clean up the armor and remove the smell.

I am going to have to replace the velcro on the shoulder bells and glue a couple of pieces back together. Maybe new body suits, I'll see how they are after they dry. I may seperate the feet from the ower leg armor, not sure. I will probably dremmel out the armor a bit so the pieces aren't so thick.

So, when I took this pic I had cleaned up the armor on one trooper.

For those that have done body swaps, did you go with the Sideshow armored hands??

I know some of you guys have swapped Marmit's onto Soldier Story bodies, I will probably go with those. They look nice. Anybody else use TT knockoffs?? Any other suggestions??

Right now I am just breaking these guys down and cleaning them up. I want to finish some other things up before I really start to work on them. I am just doing this today because I am tired of my office smelling like mildew. :)

These are GREAT kits. I am going to do some more homework before I start on them, this is going to be fun. :D

I used a DiD body on one of my marmit Stormtroopers and I love the proportions on him.
No modding was needed either which was a plus.

I used a ttm22. The upperleg armor are repainted stormtrooper commander from sideshow cause the originals were missing. I used fullers earth for the sandfx.

I picked up a few loose SS trooper hands from TA,i just replaced the armor on them with the cut down marmit hand armor. Worked great:)

Looks good Robert, nice kitbash. :)

Matrix, thanks for info. I figured that would work. I just went through my parts bin and dug out all my extra Sandtrooper and Stormtrooper hands, I should be good to go.

I am going to have to replace the body suits, the ones that came with these Marmit troopers are in rough shape. I will probably just pick up some of the new clone bodysuits from TA.

Once again, I appreciate all the feedback. Thanks guys. :duff

So, borrowed a SSC Sandtrooper bodysuit to see how it would work. Swapped body to a knockoff TT I had lying around. Cut hands off Marmit armor and swapped them out with a spare set of SSC Sandtrooper hands. Attached velcro to shoulder bells. I had to dremmel out the bicep armor to get it to fit properly. I will have to do the same to the forearm armor(I dont have time to do it right now). I am thinking of using the SSC shoulder pauldron, not sure. Will probably use Marmit ammo pouches. SSC E-11.

Coming along. This one is kind of the guinea pig, if I can get it to look right will repeat with the other two.

Back to the "Show us your troops" thread for more info. That thread is such a good resource. :)

Tt slims or their knock offs work great. I personally have seperated the foot from the shin armor and thinks it works/looks way better. More articulation helps with the poses.

You are probably right. I may do that. It will be tricky though, I need to decide if I want to risk screwing it up. :D

I was able to dremmel out the forearm armor. I put him on top of the Dewback for the helluva it, I wanted to see what he would look like. The previous trooper I had on it was a kitbashed, loose joint Sideshow mess. :)
