Oh yeah. there are differences. ;) j/k

But seriously, looks fantastic and you have a keen eye for those great details. :clap

You inspire me to move it up on my to do list.

Thanks guys. Cheers. :)

I had some extra Hoth trooper bits left over, so I am starting a Echo Base deck officer. I repainted a Luke Hoth vest and used a proto Fett jumpsuit.

I was able to pick up an extra hatted Luke sculpt from TA last night. :yess:

I am addicted to that site.

You always seem to do the characters/outfits I love the most, and nothing's changed here.:clap

That SSC vest looks a whole lot better than the Hasbro one I used for my Echo Base trooper. I spent quite a while trying to figure out if Luke's vest was unique from the other Hoth vests because it appears shorter (many of the Hoth background/trooper vests seem to hang longer whereas Luke's seems more waist height,) but I think it was was exactly the same but a smaller size for Hamill being a shorter guy.

Thanks. I love the background characters in Star Wars, always have. I am also a sucker for Hoth stuff. :)

I know what you mean about the vest length. Maybe they appear longer because they wear their belt/holster under the vest instead of over it like Luke did? Like you said though, not many options.

I need to sort out the pockets on the pants. I removed the foam inserts, but they still pop out too much. I may go with some spare Fleet Trooper pants, not sure. I also need to sort out the boots, the ones in the pic are placeholders. I know they are different than the trooper ones. I need to find some more reference photos.

Some progress on my Echo Base trooper. I weathered the vest. Here is a pic as I was working on it. The left side is clean, the right side has been weathered.

I also painted the hat, scarf.

I need to sort out the pants, not happy with them.

Got the sculpt in the hat, pain in the arse.

If Cliff Clavin can be an officer, so can Elrond. :)

Dude that vest looks awesome. I wasn't happy with the pants on mine either until I added the other pockets and weathered it.

Thanks. I am searching for alternatives. Worst case, I just add the pockets like you did.

I did pick up some Mortal Kombat pants for my ANH Saurin, thanks for pointing me in that direction. :)

Enaud is unbelievably talented - in sculpt, now sew. The detail is just outstanding. As soon as the deluge of HT and SSC deliveries eases up (just got two more figs yesterday) I'm PM'ing him to see what he can produce right now.

Yes he is and Chris always does a good job of making his stuff look even better with those customs.

Yes he is. Thanks Jason.

I am doing quite a bit of modifications to my ANH Vader.

I posted these in the Vader thread, but wanted to post them here as well.

Chaka I've to be onest...I can't see your magic touch in this figure...

Well, im not a Vader "expert". What do you suggest? I am going to repaint the chest armor I think. I appreciate your honesty mate. :)

A pic with natural light. I raised the dome a bit.

Chaka, I know your love for background characters but I think that there aren't star wars figure that you aren't expert about. I only can say that sometimes less is more. Maybe he looks a bit too dirty instead of battle damaged or consumed/used. Vader is a lord! Don't forget this! :wink1:
I can't wait to see your work on this figure. Thanks for sharing all your amazing figure. As I've already said, look your thread is like find new scenes of star wars! :rock

Thanks Weezer, Sturtrup.

I do know that the belt boxes and chest box are weathered, I tried to copy that. I do think I overdid the chest armor, I mentioned that. I haven't touched the helmet with paint.

Still working on it. :)

That Vader needs to take a shower.:lol

It's looking nice overall and you're closer than you think (have you posted the recipe for this Vader? I think I see the ANH jumpsuit, but not sure on the capes, maybe iforigno.) People in the HT Vader thread have struggled with the chest armor treatment but Jazz Inc and Matt S (I think) just showed a paint app that looks very close. Jazz's really got the helmet down too. The problem is, even in the movie the chest armor - and helmet - looks dirty (because they are - clogged with dulling spray.)

I'm working on my Hurricane/Kaiyodo Vader and he's a very tough character to get looking just right, whether you go pristine/shiny ESB or dirty/dull ANH. He's too tall or short, the capes won't hang right, then he's too fat or arms too thin, then the dome's sitting wrong...:gah::lol

Thanks for the feedback Talibane.

I am repainting the chest armor. I need to add black to the middle bars....

I am using SSC ANH jumpsuit and HT cape and tunic.
