I masked the original t-visor on the helm, airbrushed it flat white, then airbrushed tamiya clear gloss, so in a fancy way, yes lol. I knew I could control the gloss if thinned from airbrush rather than a can though, no runs or thick yellow bits! kinda got the vac formed plastic look star wars can have I think

It looks beautiful man. And Chaka, very nice Duros heads! I especially like the gloss around the lips. Perfect touch! Cheers brudda!

Chaka ... wow, that eye looks crazy, loving these Duros more and more by the minute.

Spacer Duros on the way too... mmmmmmmm

Chakaman, it's a treat to watch your work. My father is hooked on to your thread ever since we stumbled upon it and he's started off right from Page 1. :rock

So much talent in this section. I never frequented this zone but a couple of threads and I'm already blown away.

Thanks. Im looking forward to finishing him. Gloss really adds a lot when added in the right places.

Cheers mate! That eye took me quite a while to do. Hoping to get the other one finished this weekend. Lots of pastels used to add the small deeper details. Then gloss was added to it.

Yes, spacer Duros is in the pipeline. I cant wait to have the two of these guys added to my cantina setup. :hi5:

Good job C. What color did you use?

Thanks Jason. I used some olive green, blue and grey to do the base coat. The base coat was pretty blueish/green. I then drybushed grey over the head to give it more of a ANH flavor and lose some of the blue in it.

Small update on Bannis Keeg. I worked on his left eye(right in pic). I also put together the main parts of his outfit.

Its now time to get some hands sorted out and add all the details to the outfit. :)

Looks awesome, I'm tempted by a casual duros too, the flight suit for the spacer one is proving hard (want it slim fitting)

i think those were made from someone on this board if i remember correctly. Rogue trooper perhaps?

Yep that is rogues work... He was the man back then... He got me into customs and casting....

Love the colour of the Duros chris

So, space-suit Duros. I decided to try a Hasbro X-Wing pilot suit painted white. I put several coats of watered down white acrylics on the suit. I did the same technique a few years ago when I did my Ten Numb. It takes a while and is a pain, but I think it turns out okay.....

I cut down the collar on the suit. I made a puffy green undershirt and trimmed it with ribbing. I may toy with it some more, but I think I can make something work. Here he is so far...

I plan on adding a belt, pouches and some cuffs to the sleeves. Lots to do, but at least its a start.

Jeez, I love how you just whip out pics of old customs for reference - and they're incredible! That Nien in the white flightsuit is amazing - did you sculpt the bald head?

Thanks. The sculpt came with the bald head but I did sand it down some with the dremmel. I had to sculpt the back of the head down to the neck. I made it more round, this was the sculpt that we got from the fridge magnet a while back.

I got this from Dorgs, since then Duane has done this sculpt with the back of the head and neck scuplted.

hey chris ever try "shoe white" for painting the suits? i've had pretty good luck with it & i've done both techniques.

Painting cloth like that, the paint will seep over time. I did that trick many years ago (also white) and several years later there were spots that "cleared" and whatever was under the saturated cloth was sopping with paint.

Search ebay for GI Joe space suits and stuff like that -- there's lots of white jumpsuits out there.

I havent, I will look into that. Thanks.

I have never had that problem. I have painted many orange X-Wing suits green, grey and white over the years, no issues. Interesting. I dont go real thick when I am painting, thats why it takes so long.

Duane sent me the Taylor flight suit, I may use that. You just have to mod the heck out of it. I know there are quite a few flightsuits out there, was just trying not to buy one at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up though. :)
