Thanks guys, I appreciate it. The helmets are tediuous, but a lot of fun to do. My plans are to have 6 pilots from ANH Red Squadron. Luke, Biggs, Wedge, Theron Nett, John D and Red Leader.

If I can score some more Tomy helmets, I would try to do them all! :D

Up next is John D. Branon. I had a helluva time getting the insignia on the top of the helmet to look right. He isnt finished, but coming along...

Here is a group shot of the pilots I am working on. Biggs, Luke and Wedge were done last year and the others are being upgraded as we speak. I cant wait to go back and finish the others. Looks like I will have 7 ANH pilots when finished.

Hey Chaka. It seems you like to do things freehand, which is cool. I came across this if you wanted to try and make it on decal paper or something.
I don't have a very steady hand, so it may be cheating, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

The Squadron looks great! We love our OT secondary, thirdiary, and fourthiary characters, don't we?

Only prob is the arms have been trimmed slighty ( don't ask!)
But its yours if u want it

all you need now is 7 x-wings in scale:thud:

Thanks guys. I am going to try to work on Biggs, Wedge and Luke this weekend. Those vests have to be redone.

Ow yes. cant do enough of the background characters, especially from ANH. If we would put all our "scondary" charactres together, it would make on helluva a dio.

Cool beans! :clap

Great helmet-work Chaka!

And the Stella Artois glass is a nice touch. :lol

Thanks, the helmets are a lot of fun to do. Stella is one of my favorite beers.

Thanks mate, I will let you know. I would hate for you ro have to go to all the trouble and send it across the pond if I can probably pick one up for cheap. I appreciate the gesture though, cheers.

Small update, I started working on Luke's helmet. I gave it respray and started to draw in the details.

Pretty rough at the moment. The helmet on the left with the primer all over it is going to be Wedge's helmet.

Its been a while since I had a chance to work on anything, I FINALLY had some time this afternoon.

I did some work on my Luke X-Wing pilot. I did a bit more painting on the helmet. I then dremmeled the head so it would fit in the Tomy helmet. I cut off all the buttons and paperwork from the jumpsuit. I used cutdown black electrical tape for the chestbox straps and white webbing for leg straps.

I am just trying to get the outfit put together. Hopefully I can finish painting up the helmet and Luke's face this weekend. I am learning that a 2 month old takes up quite a bit of "dollie time". :D

Nothing too major, but I hadnt posted anything in a while. I got all the bits to this guy last week, but was FINALLY able to start on my Rebel honor guard this afternoon. I spent most of my time removing collars, buttons and stuff from the jacket to make it more screen accurate. Its a lot less bulky now.

I also started working on the visor. I like the looks of it, but wanted to see what you guys thought. Its black electrical tape. I havent trimmed it or have it shaped like I want, just wanted to see if it would work.

Next up, spray the helmet and do the belt.

I would like to wish all my friends a very happy, safe and Merry Christmas!!

2010 was great, I really am looking forward to 2011.

Cheers guys!!

Really nice group shot.

Thanks Darth Neil!!

I did some more work on my pilots today. I did some touchup work on the vests, redid the chestbox straps and did some minor work to the outfits.

I was also able to do a little bit to the honor guard today....

The hard part in going to be painting the belt to match the rest of the outfit. I may end up going to TA and seeing what they have, that might be easier.

Work, the holdiays and a 3 month old have really cut into my hobby time the past few months. At this pace, I might have Red Squad done in early 2012. :D
