I was finally able to pick up a Hasbro Vader dome for a reasonable price. I havent had time to place it exactly how I want it, but I do the like the looks of it already.

Some work done on Nikto. I made a leather pattern that I am going to use when making his chestplate. I also had to sculpt a bit more neck that shows above the chestplate.

I did the shoulder bells, I am going to lighten then up though. I was just trying to get the shape. I painted up some human hands to serve as fill ins for the time being. I wanted to see what he looked like holding Duane's awesome skiff guard weapons. :)

Still loads to do.

wow Chaka new chest armour is amazing, looks like you nailed it again.:clap

More reference pictures for we mere mortals to follows in the masters foots steps :lol

I just love to watch your work take shape. :yess:

Hi Chaka, just wondering if you could tell me what material you use for sculpting necks? The only modelling material I can find needs to be oven baked and I don't fancy chargrilled dollies!!!
BTW Barryo came good with RY jacket info and it's ordered.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks. Sorry I dont take more pictures. When I get busy, I forget to take more WIP pics. I will try to take more on future projects.

The chest armor is a smooth leather. The trim is electrical wire glued to the edges and painted. I need to go in and add all the details on the surface of the armor. I appreciate the comments mate. :)

I just use super sculpy Jay and bake it with a match or a cigarette lighter. You gotta be careful, but it can work. Im sure there is a better method of doing this, but ow well. Just do it outside and wear a small mask so you dont breathe in the fumes. :D

Im glad Barry sorted you out with that Ree-Yees jacket. Cant wait to see your Ree-Yees! If you got any other questions, shoot me a PM my friend.

Amazing work you have definitely got the eye for details mate.

Ron

Thanks Ron. The chest armor took me a while to do. I think I had to do 4-5 trial patterns on the chest armor before I was happy with the size. Trial and error, trial and error. :D

Working on some helmet details this morning. I figured I would show you guys how I am using electrical wire for the trim detail on the helmet and chest armor. I just run the wire where I want it and glue it into place. I then will go back and paint it.

This is what the chest armor looked like before I painted it.

I also added some lighter brown highlights to the fur on the helmet. I added more cloth hanging down from the sides of the helmet so it would reach the shoulders. I dirtied it up a bit as well.

Im adding the "rivets" to the chest armor. All of the studs that I have are too big, so I am cutting off segments of electric wire and glueing them in place....

Once the glue has dried, I take fingernail clippers trim them down....

Here they all are trimmed down.....

Here they all painted up....

Im pretty much done with the chest armor, now to finish up on the helmet. :)

Killer job as always Chris!:clap
Great tutorial on the chest armor...it's amazing how such a small adjustment like the rivit details can be so effective & make that piece really pop out at you

holy **** man.............all those skiff guards are phenom-nom-nom-enal..........:lecture

Thanks Brinn, I appreciate it. :)

great work....have you tried melting the rivets by holding a flame near them.... do a test first if you choose to try it

I didnt try that, but I will give it a go next time I make rivets for armor. Thanks for the idea mate. :hi5:

Taking a break from Nikto, but I was able to finish Snaggletooth. Weathered the outfit and boots. I touched up the face paint and glossed the eyes, nose and mouth area.

With all my new additions, I decided to rework my cantina setup. I moved all my guys into office. I just now walked by them on my way out and thought all of them just standing there looked kinda cool...
