Okay, I have been doing the math... and its not looking pretty. From the 4th quarter of this year to early 1st quarter next year, I have so many pre-orders:

4 Star Wars 1/6
Jabba 3 pack
PF Luke/Yoda

All 3 LOTR

Angel
Cordy
Lorne

Connery Bond
Brosnan Bond

I just do not think I can manage it all at once. Now, I have done some soul searching, and I think I have arrived at a solution:

I am contemplating dropping the throne from my Jabba order. I know he will look amazing on it. However, I really think I would rather have 4 to 5 other 1/6 figures that I love than a slab of polystone for lardo :rotfl to sit on. I would love your opinions as well. Keep in mind I am a die-hard Buffy fan, and really want the LOTR Fellowship figs. I also love those 2 Bonds. So, if you were me, what would you do? Also, which pieces do you think I would be able to pick up mid-year on the secondary market without too much inflation in cost. I usually do not care about exclusives.. but LOTR have to be for the cloaks... God, that was the stupidest move since gloved hands on regular Spike and no jacket on Prom Buffy :monkey4 .

Now, don't worry, I won't be cancelling anything in the near future. I will hold them for a while in hopes of a miracle. Heck, who knows, maybe that North Carolina educational lottery will actual give us teachers a bonus or something... however I am not holding my breath.

I'm in the same boat. Too many goodies, not enough money.

If needs be, Jabba's throne will be the first thing to go. As you said, I'd rather have 3 or 4 cool figures than a big slab of polystone.

Good God, as soon as I ordered Bib I was thinking of cancelling!! Too much **** on the plate....along with my head when my wife finds out!!!

Well, the best way to avoid that kind of problem is to only order stuff you can actually afford. For me I can only buy stuff if I have the money at the time--even though the figures don't charge until they ship I still subtract it out of my bank account calculations, that way when it ships there are no surprises and I don't lose track of money I'm going to be spending. Using the credit card can be a more convenient way of buying something, especially if the item doesn't offer a payment plan you can at least make payments on the credit card so it's somewhat the same as buying something in payments--except for the outrageous interest of course, but still. So I just recommend buying when you have enough money---if it's too much then you probably shouldn't be buying it anyway.

I'm just very glad I got flexpay on the throne. If these all ship at the same time it'll be tough, but I don't expect it... can't be as bad as it is now... here's what I have coming in July:

Hot Toys Robocop
DCD Lex Luthor
Takara Batman
Takara Catwoman
SDCC Anakin
SDCC Subject 5
Kit Fisto
Bowen Shanna bust
DST TNG series 1 set(plus a Nemesis riker/troi two pack)
Four Horsemen set of 6 Minotaurs
SOTA SDCC Exclusive Gouken
Medicom Rocketeer

That may seem like small potatoes to some of the people who buy the $500 1:1 busts but a normal month for me is a quarter of that.

Thats nice advice, and so much easier said than done:D In around 40 orders from SS I have only had to cancel 12 to date(most all of which have come in the last year)...The only problem now a days with Sideshow is the crazy amount of things they ship out...There was a time when you might get 12 SS products through the course of a year, now you may have that many shipping in one month. Sideshow has grown so much since the early days when I first began ordering from them. They have become much more mainstream and it has become quite hard to keep up with them.

I love the "new" Sideshow with newsletters every week, Priority pre-orders a few times a month and countless products to choose from. but some were inside I miss the days of Sideshow when I had a few weeks or even months to put an order in. This isn't your daddys Sideshow. Times have changed at Sideshow and I have never felt the change so much as I have this year. It will be very interesting to see were Sideshow is 5 years from now.

This is what I'd do (and have done to some degree since I've ordered some of the same items)...

You seem to be more of a 1/6 scale collector, so I'd immediately drop the PF Dagobah Luke and Yoda. Yeah, that exclusive is great (the reason I ordered it), but that's $350+ in one shot on one item.

Next, I'd cancel Jabba's throne and re-order it on Flexpay to help spread out the cost. Obviously, ignore that if you already have it on Flexpay. :)

Also, keep in mind that Jabba and palace set will most likely experience delays. With the obvious exception of SDCC Vader, NONE of the SW 1/6'ers have met their release date. So Jabba may be a little further off in the future than you think.

I would drop the Brosnan Bond as well. You can still find the GoldenEye version for relatively cheap. Connery is harder to drop because it's an iconic outfit. Brosnan...it's just a business suit.

Hope this helps you. Good luck with juggling your orders!! :)

I currently have 13 preorders in.

All Star Wars except the Lurtz PF exclusive. I plan to pick up the Frodo PF on the secondary market cheaper.

Good luck, the low ES on that may make it difficult to find any cheaper than at a retailers. I've seen him for around $200-215 somewhere recently but I don't know if they still have it. If you'll remember, as soon as they announced the ES, he sold out at SS and most retailers the same night.

I have been thinking of switching the throne over to flex pay. I was wondering how long I had to wait after canceling the regular edition to order the flex pay one. I know there is a 1 piece limit on this so I would hate to have them both dropped off my ordering list.

I'm thinking about the same thing if I can't source the throne locally. But I was going to email customer service to do it for me rather than try cancel one order and put in a new one.

You're right King Darkness, SSC has changed a lot over the years, offering more and more. FORTUNATLY I don't like everything they make, otherwise I'd be a hobo by now.
What's bugging me about the Jabba throne, is that you really have to pay a lot of $ for a "requisite". I understand all of those that prefer to spend that money on 12" figures, in stead of on the throne. What where they thinking when they came up with the throne? I really like the look of it, and I ordered it, but not out of 'admiration for the outstanding design and superior quality' of Jabba's throne. More because I want to complete the Jabba set up. Just imagine how much SSC will make us pay for other, cooler add-ons in the future! And, let's not forget, if high priced add-ons, environments and expansion packs work for SW, why wouldn't they work for the 12" LotR line? Let's face it: the future is expensive!

I think thats an understatment. If you are into Sideshow for the long haul, get a secound job now and start saving all those checks.Your gonna need them...And i also agree that if the throne enviroment is a huge cash cow for Sideshow we can expect bigger, better and more expensive "enviroments" in the future. Not at all a bad thing, just be prepared when it happens. Six months ago if you had told me if I was going to drop near $400 on a 1/6 figure/enviroment I would have though you were crazy! Now I guess I'am the crazy one:wacky :google :horror

Getting Jabba, with the base, is an absolute must; and, I won't be getting it for my daughter without. The base makes it.

With Jabba you are either all in or all out.

They do have the flex option on the throne which is nice.

Actually, I do not see it as a "all in or all out." Don't get me wrong, he looks amazing on the throne. But I still do not see the throne as being worth 200 bucks. I would much rather have eliminated the polystone out of the design process and cut the price down to 100 bucks. Jabbas pretty light, so it doesn't need to be a polystone brick. In all honesty, If I could get the hooka pipe/apparatus for 50 bucks or as part of the Jabba, I would never even ordered the base. That's all that really "essential" to me.

However, I am still not sold on 1.) the price and 2.) the size. The irony of the situation is that if I decide to keep the throne... I probably wouldn't have enough room anywhere to actually display it :lol Well, on further thought, I am pretty sure the first thing to go if cancelling needs be done would be Bib. The Hasbro 12" version would work well with a throne display (outfit okay, sculpting decent). I won't lie, I had already decided I was sticking to main characters. Bib's order was in response to the Jabba set.

As someone else mentioned, I too am a little worried about how fast Sideshow is beginning to pump these items out. Think about, the majority of us collectors are on a budget. We all find our selves making decisions/ priorities at some point. If Sideshow keeps releasing stuff this rapidly, people will be forced to pick and choose. That hurts Sideshow in the end. I rather doubt they will have a problem with Star Wars. However, it does hurt other lines I like like Buffy, Bond, etc. Heck, I could see Sideshow as a Star Wars/LOTR only company at this rate.. which I do not like. I want them to keep making a wide range of stuff. Just give us time to reload our wallets :monkey3

P.S. I also do not see myself cancelling the PF Luke/Yoda. If I can save some major bucks later on, I might cancel the exclusive and buy from the seconday market. However, Dagobah/Bespin Luke is the epitome of Star Wars to me. I sold my PF Darth Vader to make room for this one. The only other PF I plan to buy is the eventual ROTJ Vader (which will hopefully avoid electronics in favor of a second helmet-less additional head).

I'm right with you brother. I'm getting married in October and all my stuff is getting shipped to my job so I can sneak it in the house when my wife is not looking.
