Obviously you have not read any of my post. I pretty much state that I like the sculpt except in the close up and then I blame the photo and the paint..... Nice try.. But I do love Bananas so thanks!!

I think some people might be feeling overwhelmed by the amount of rational, unbiased criticism and are trying to counter with a sweeping "you're all haters." I have no horse in this race, not really much of a DC guy. But I do think the Keaton PF looks awesome and this Reeve just seems awkward and poorly done on many levels which I think is a bummer. I like it when people see their favorite characters turn out awesomely in statue form.

At least you guys still have that awesome comic trinity of Batman, Supes, and WW.

I tired to get tix last year, logged on at exactly the release time, and didn't even get into the waiting room. SDCC need s a better ticketing system.

I went in 2010, and just went to the site one day and there were tons of single day tix...I had no problem at all. I've tried to get tix every year since, and haven't even come close.

same with me. went in 2009, tickets were available for at least 2 months. went in 2010, just logged on about a week after they went on sale and bought a friday ticket no problem. since then i haven't even got a sniff, logging on the minute they go on sale.

and with San Francisco losing out on wondercon, its big wow con again for me again this year i guess.

One of the things I'm looking forward to is the sculpted cape, this fabric is gonna be a nightmare to pose, let alone get it stay put.

Honestly I don't see Reeve in the head sculpt for this statue. It seems like it's partially there but looks off to me. It kind of looks more like if there was a comic book drawing of Reeve and they were basing it off of that rather than how he looked in the actual films.

Anyways.... It's hard to tell how good the sculpt is from some of these photos... SSC needs better pics... Personally I think the sculpt looks more scary and old in this shot. Perhaps even Zombie like.... Could be the paint??

However other shots it does look better. For the sake of those who are getting it I hope it turns out better then the photo above.

The likeness is lacking just a tad....I love Matt Blacks other creations...I think he's a great sculptor.

I agree the sculpt has the resemblance, but something's off. Like he's old or dying or something. Haven't seen anyone beat the Hot Toys interpretation of Christopher Reeve yet. And that's an action figure at a much smaller scale.

that being said im still considering this statue.

it doesn't blow me away, but i think in hand it could do. im not convinced with the EX however, and out of scale knowledge crystal that has no relevance to the rest of the piece isn't too much of an incentive.

The head sculpt looks awful. It's elongated and old looking, like the skin is stretched too tight and he is stuck in a grimace.

Ughhh, these new preorder pics....especially that close-up of his face. Why does he look so Ashy Larry? The sculpt is good. As a fan of Superman, you'd be an idiot not to recognize this sculpt as Christopher Reeve, but damn...that promo paint app. Sideshow has to tweak his skin tone, cuz he looks like he just had a mid-flight stroke. If that's gonna be the preferred paint app on his portrait, then I'd hate to see what the production portrait is gonna look like. Now's the time to fix it, Sideshow.
