Why has the argument moved to a sculpt vs sculpt comparison? I think nobody doubted how good the Chronicle sculpt is.
the sculpting on it looks lazy like Neca 7" endoskeletons, and that's the main reason why it looks cheap and plastic, not the paint scheme. it's the same on the unpainted variant.
sorry sorry sorry i tried for a week not to say that but i couldn't keep myself shut up anymore :slap

You are totally wrong there. Sculpt is not the issue.

yeah yeah i don't know anything about fine details, edges, carves, straight lines and so on.

So you don't like the paint, o.k got it. And you didn't purchase the item? Good for you! You showed them. I guess that's it then, time to move on. Bye :wave

I have it on order, actually I have persuaded other four people to preorder it when it went on preorder since I own Cain and vouched for Chronicle with them - with customs fees and VATs this endo will probably end up costing more than $700 to us. Going by your logic, I'm probably more entitled than anyone else to post here with questions and requests.

Anyone that wants to say the print isn't detailed just go to page one and the first pic is a show of the printed skull.

Tell me again which one is better just because it's plated?

Hot Toys 1:4 vs Chronicle 1:4

These were the photos that we were forced to take down before the movie came out, but I don't see a problem now making comparisons...

I'm sure someone can who owns that Hot Toys version, I sold mine a year ago to make way for the Genisys version. After seeing how inaccurate it was in every way including the giant phillips head screw in his chest, I dumped it for a better version.

It's not chrome guys, ours is painted, will never look chrome. But ours was produced by Legacy Effects so we know it's 100% authentic and well not that toy on the left....

I wasn't going to bash a company's product but I'm seeing some shade being thrown around toward other people's work which is petty to see.

Let's get this straight - your version is a disappointment. The paint is not only off in the idealized concept of an endoskeleton - regarding the chrome appearance- but also in the actual prop finish. Moreover, there is nothing wrong with the sculpt or proportions but the execution in detail is underwhelming. So don't knock on the screw in their center piece when you guys decided to use curved silver plastic to resemble braided stainless steel lines attached to the "deltoid." After it's all said and done, one company had a digital file and the other had to hand sculpt their endo yet the latter of the two came out better.

wait wait wait.. did you just say that that new endo bust is better?!!....lol clearly you know nothing of what you speak of since that one was painted as well and is no where close to being a T1 endo or a T2 endo for that matter. It is a *******ized stylized version of an endo with the terminator name thrown on it for sells. yes it doesnt look bad and is a nice piece but accurate is a stretch by any means.

I'm not sure why you are referring to the endo bust. Paul kept taking jabs at the Hot Toy's version of the 1:4 Endo and I was simply stating that HT's - although subjective - came out better despite having a digital file to work with.

Hot toys looks better

I want chronicle cause it's bigger and a statue. Not too fond of toys.

Don't care about accuracy. Hot toys also has a better base. I actually sold my hot toys to get this endo and I feel like I kinda regret it

I had 2 of the HT version and sold them both a long time ago. This piece looks MUCH better to me. The HT has weak joints, cheap plastic base that does not hold the body well, cheap looking "weathered" finish over the chrome. The CC piece is about the same price as the HT version and you are getting a much higher quality look.

agreed ^^ I owned the ht figure as well and other than the shiny eye candy finish the actual figure felt cheap, had a goofy head sculpt and and I thought would break just being moved around. I liked it at first but the overall feel of the piece was not as high as I had hoped it would be.

Agreed, times three. HT was a total cheap POS. If someone likes paying hundreds of dollars for plastic(HT's), be my guest.

We still don't know what this will be made of by the way. All we've been told is that it's mixed media...but we don't know which parts will be what. I'm really curious just exactly what it's made out of.

I had the Hot Toys one too and ended up returning it due to a defect. I remember that one being mixed media as well (thighs, upper arms, hoses etc... were metal). In fact, I still got all the smashed pieces from it from when Sideshow asked me to destroy it lol.

From a sculpt point of view I think Chronicles is a lot better. I'm just not quite as sold on the paint finish as others.

You're missing the point. Robo objected to a producer deflecting criticism of their piece by bashing a competitors product, which isn't cool.

How you dare bring up fair points that actually make sense and move the talks towards more reasoned arguments?
Here it's where we're supposed to blame the sculpt of a 3 years old action doll compared to the obviously better sculpt of a today's statue taken from the actual digital files of the movie, while conveniently forgetting that other people are simply talking of the paint finish and probably couldn't care less of what Hot Toys does, all this obviously while blabbering "cheap toy cheap toy cheap toy".

Chronicle has made some cool stuff. This endoskeleton is not one of them. I'd even take sideshows 1:4 over this. It had crappy teeth but at least the chrome finish was authentic.

Not sure if this was directed at me or not, but I got Robo's point completely, and get where he's coming from. My post wasn't directed at anyone in particular, was more responding to the last few posts that were commenting on the build quality of the Hot Toys being junk, which reminded me that we don't actually know what Chronicle's is made of to automatically assume it's better quality. All we know is that it's mixed media. Just a general discussion really. Would be nice to have a confirmation on which parts are made out of what media.

Honestly El Mule, I've read your last few posts on here and you've posted some of the most sensible posts I've read in ages. There seems to be a lot of Kool Aid drinking going on in this thread including the one on Statue Forum, which has put me off discussing it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing some constructive criticism, as long as it's done respectfully. After all, we are the ones buying it. I don't know why some people have an issue with this.
