I'm finding this whole situation bizarre. As someone who has had a bit of a history with Chronicle ( not a good one really ) in this instance I feel bad for the guy. Its quite clear he feels bad about this endo thing and IMO his damage control has been very good. Im not sure what to make of this burning of the endo thing. All I can assume is that someone else at Chronicle commented on FB but he himself wasn't amused.

I figure the Facebook guy thought it would be cool to burn an endo because it is an endo and Paul who was very passionate about this project took it the wrong way.

It's all been said before snoop. I think you need to calm it down now and refrain from purchasing anything from this company you despise.

I too have issues, which I have been vocal about, with some of their promises but it is clear for anyone to see that Paul is passionate about what he does.

This is a relatively new company who are learning by their mistakes. As long as they learn from them, which they will, there's no need to keep kicking.

OK, let's all settle down and cheer up.

Agreed. They can only get better if want to remain in business. I would give them another chance at making Endo if they want to make it right. It goes both ways, they need to deliver before we commit.

Has anyone heard anything about the Chronicle 1/4 Endo from Genisys ? I heard they are shipping with an updated paint job. Anyone have info on this?

I would have assumed there were no more to ship at this point. That would suck for those like me that have the dark paint job if that were true. Where did you hear that?

From my dealer. I ordered this day one. When I seen they were shipping months ago, I asked my guy what was up because I haven't received mine. He said there were problems with the paint and they were working on a fix. Now, months later he says, your piece is in but the paint came out a flat gray. He then says, I have a guy who can do a "shiny chrome" paint job for an additional $100. I was wondering if anyone received any of the "new" paint job so I could compare the two.

"Shiny chrome"

All the endos were dark gray. I don't remember Chronicle ever saying they were doing a fix and they certainly wouldn't have done it in flat. They offered a $200 refund for anyone who wanted to keep it. For $100, I think the shiny chrome would be just a quick paint over and probably not worth it. Without stripping and dismantling, you would lose a lot of detail.

There's nothing being said over at Statue Forum where Chronicle posts.

This is news to the rest of us. CC basically admitted defeat on this one and sold them off as they were for a large discount. I also wouldn't pay for that paint job, it's just a chrome (incorrect colour anyway) sprayed over the entire thing, weapon and all. You could do that in 5 minutes with a rattle can. No detail, no subtlety, no weathering etc etc...

Really confused!

You ask if anyone has heard about Chronicle shipping with updated paint then say your dealer knows someone who can paint it for $100?!
What's that got to do with Chronicle?

They probably bought them with a huge discount then done a quick, amateur paint job.

Don't know why you're confused...

"What does it have to do with Chronicle?"

"I heard Chronicle was now shipping these with an updated paint job."

I clearly know what the shiny chrome repaint looks like, but don't know what the new "flat gray" looks like. That's what I was inquiring about. Trying to see if anyone has photos of the "new" Chronicle repaint.

You missed his point, there is no new Chronicle re-paint. There are plenty of pictures in this thread of what the production piece looked like and that didn't change. It sounds like you supplier is pulling the wool over your eyes.

I didn't miss his point.... his question was, what's this got to do with Chronicle? I'm just trying to gather information based off of what I'm being told. This thread was closed until I requested to be reopen yesterday so information was limited. So you know that Chronicle didn't attempt to have this repainted?

It is possible they may have touched up some of the worse examples. But no re-paints occurred. As Col mentioned, a cynic might assume that your supplier purchased them for the large discount Chronicle offered and is now selling them on for full rrp... Or even more for an amateur looking re-paint. Speculation of course, but don't expect a magically improved version direct from Chronicle, they never happened.

Sorry, your post confused me.
I didn't realise your retailer said the paint had been updated before he/she decided to add the, pretty bad, chrome finish.

Some say the original production piece was a very flat grey but as said Chronicle never changed the paint.

Now I'm confused. If there is no Chronicle update, why the hell did I wait an extra 6 months? Now I'm thinking he may have got them at a big discount and is trying to cheaply chrome them to move them, but it still doesn't explain why it took forever for them to come in. Like I said, this was a day one order for me.
