I got a credit from my MC for this, but my Visa required me to submit some further information for my Alan Grant/raptor set. Just a matter of time, but it seems Partial.ly would have been easier. No biggie.

I do have to wonder what will come of these figures now. I'm sure they were near completion. Wouldn't be surprised to see a "Barbarian Guy" figure being released by some unlicensed third party soon.

Well, I see I'm not the only one this has happened too.

They canceled my partial payment plan for my Enterprise-D

I've paid almost $1500 on it and only had three payments left of $93. Had to pay $200 upfront no refunds. I got so stressed and OF COURSE they email us this at the end of Friday, so..... we can't contact them until Monday morning.

Naturally the Enterprise-D is prob canceled for good, it was too good to be ****ing true. Makes me sick to my stomach. I already have a moducase being built for the ****ing thing, so OF COURSE! lol.

I'll tell you what though, we had all better get refunded. If they are going out of business, I now worry about me getting my $1500 back. When I check my partial pay, it doesn't even show a refund.

Call me a little stressed lol.

I was in the EXACT same boat. I had ordered the Enterprise-D with a $200 down payment with 3 payments left to go. Found this thread on Tuesday and just today was finally able to complete the forum registration process. Partial.ly refunded all my payments this morning. Till finding this thread I was convinced some mistake was made and I had no idea anyone else was going through the same thing. I've purchased from Chronical Collectables before and I had no idea things were going south as fast as they were for them. From what I am reading it is sounding like their problems started well before COVID-19 too so I'm surprised these problems were so well hidden for so long.

I wouldn't be too sure, if they were that close, they probably could've held on for the figures to be in-stock. Seems more likely they just didn't get enough pre-orders to cover the production costs. I'm guessing they had too much stuff in the pipeline, and simply ran out of money.

I guess Chronicle Collectibles is bankrupt? Got a bunch of emails from Partial.ly payment stating that Chronicle will not be able to fulfill this order, and I'll be getting a refund in 5 to 10 business days. This is very sad and disappointing.

I contacted Partial.ly again. They just refunded me for what I spent on the Grant figure set. I urge anyone here that paid through that service to request a refund immediately. I am thankful to not have gotten burned by Chronicle on this one.

Just got all of my payments back as well from Partial.ly, shame was looking forward to this figure.

How did you contact Partial.ly - phone or email?

Are you able to request a full refund if you did not get the cancellation emails?

My 3 orders were paid off last summer and early this year.

Based on your experiences, seems like Partial.ly is the best way to get a refund, better than through the credit card company or bank (for debit payers).

I did it through their chat feature. It sends a case to them and they then correspond through email. Just point out what your plan numbers are. They had me wait a few days to give chronicle a chance to respond (of course they didn’t). This morning I emailed partial.ly again and they sent me a refund for each payment I made.

I made payments of $208 last November, December and January. I received an email for each payment with a refund associated with it. Attached is the email from them. I hope this information helps people get what they are owed.

So partial.ly wants me to drop the case with my credit card and they say the will refund me. Not sure what to make if that. How bout refund me now and then I'll drop the case? Why wait until friday? Read the message what would you do?

Hi I called them today and they are not answering the phone. I went to leave a message but their voicemail is full. Everything on social media points to them being bankrupt and trying to keep everyone's money. I still have not received any email back from them either. I've already contacted my credit card company to file a dispute

Hello Jason,*

I am sorry the merchant has been unresponsive. We ask that you please cancel the dispute with your bank, as we will gladly refund your payments if the merchant is unable to fulfill your order.*

We have contacted the merchant and required they provide you an update on your plan's status (shipment or refund) by Friday. If you are not updated by Friday, please let us know.

Because if the bank goes ahead independently, Partial may end up double billed for it. They give you a refund, _and_ the card vendor still forces them to pay. Then it's much harder for them to ever get that money back from the card vendor.

Real simple solution, just talk to your bank. Dropping the case for now shouldn't mean you're unable to reopen later, and your bank can clarify that for you. Explain they've offered to refund, and you may need to come back if it doesn't come through.

Best advice is to go with what Partial are saying. You stand to get your money back so do it, others may not be so fortunate.

If they would have handled this much more professional and given us communication before just randomly canceling pre orders out of nowhere ( after hours on a Friday ) and sending their customer base in a frenzy of confusion and anger, I would have had sympathy.

But I have 0 empathy towards this.

Frankly even acknowledging the issue and putting that letter out is way more than I expected. If they do find some way to work things out, I think they'll have some serious issues with preorders though for anything going on in the future.

Fook that letter. Get your refunds boys and girls.

Agreed! Do it before it is too late

If that's even a real letter, it means nothing.

The company has treated its customers poorly. No transparency, no honesty, no good faith. And now they want customers to act in good faith.

Hell with that. They should have known it was a two-way street.

Yeah there is no reason anyone should tie up their money here. As shaken as I was about the $625 dr grant, I cannot imagine people who have spent thousands on statues. I’m thankful partial.ly was so easy to deal with here.

What does that letter even mean? They expect people to keep their preorders in the hope they may one day be fullfilled? Then they are going to take on new projects in the meantime?

If I ever ordered any of their product again it would be through a trusted site like Sideshow or BBTS where I can cancel at any time.

I ordered a product through Popcultcha but also used reward points towards it as well and paid for it in full. I am wondering if they're going to inform their customers of the issues with Chronicle because they still have their products available for preorder. I mean how long are we expected to wait for the fullfillment of these orders?

The letter from the lawyer seems an unnecessary turn of events.

Now they're on record saying they're having problems.

They should've just told people that they were no longer partnering with Partial.ly and gave people a head's up that they would receive notices that their payment plans would be cancelled, but the orders would still be in place. That would have at least strung out the situation further. But now people know they're in deep **** and everybody's gonna bail.

This is why you stay in front of bad news, and not be reactionary.
